For anyone who might be driving north or south on highway 75 over the holidays - be aware that highway 75 is narrowed to one lane in each direction in the thriving metroplis of Savannah, OK. It usually takes about 5 minutes or less to drive through Savannah. This afternoon, it took me about 20 minutes. If I had been driving north, it would have taken much longer as there were multiple fender benders and traffic was backed up over 2 miles south of Savannah.

They pulled this f'n **** about 5-6 years ago just before Christmas. I was driving home from Waco on the 23rd or 24th when EVERYONE was out travelling and they decided it was a f'n dandy time to shut down it down to one lane. It literally took me a couple of hours to get through Savannah and McAlester. I was ape-**** pissed.

I hate everything between McAlester and Durant with the passion of a thousand burning suns. That entire area of Oklahoma is dead to me. Every speeding ticket I've ever received has been through there (and I've had a lot). /rant

75/69 is not hard to detour around on some pretty good county roads. I know, I've done near every time I've tried to come home from business in Dallas and thought, "Ah, Hell, I know my well enough by now. How hard could it possibly be?"

You know that area is one big speed trap yet you continue to get tickets there? No wonder you have been in school for as long as you have.

I've never understood why it's highway 75 when I leave Tulsa and it's highway 75 when I get to Dallas, but it's highway 69 in the middle.

If you are driving from Tulsa to Dallas, Savannah is the first little town you drive through after you exit the turnpike at McAllister.

I know. I know. I know. The desire to get out of Little Dixie is such that I throw caution to the wind and hit that gas.

It was WAY worse at thanksgiving. Sat northbound for 45 mins with no accidents. Went through southbound today at 2:30 and no backup at all.
