Had a 300 lb tackle roll up on the back of his leg and come down in his ankle...pretty sick looking in slow motion.

RB at Dallas has been tough this year. They should fire Jason Garrett. :D

I like Jason Garrett. I dumped the Cowboys for the Rams when Sam was Drafted but Jason is a good Coach IMO. He can't help that Romo and his kicker are blowing close games and that every RB he's had this year has gotten hurt. I feel for him.

Coach Garrett takes some blame for last weeks loss though. He should have called timeout right away on that last completion before so much time ran off the clock.

Heck, tonight, he waited too long to call timeout when the Giants drove to the 1 yard line and probably cost his team at least 1 offensive play when they got the ball back. Even Jerry Jones in the owners box was telling him to call a timeout earlier, LOL.

Without even seeing it, it sounds like a high ankle sprain. Or a broken ankle.

Roll your foot inward. It's fairly easy to turn your foot on it's side so that your ankle is touching the ground (or close). A normal ankle sprain is when the ligaments holding your foot in the normal position have been stretched out / slightly torn in this direction.

Now try rolling your foot outward, so that your ankle is facing the sky. Our feet just don't bend this way. A high ankle sprain is when the foot is forced to bend that way, stretching out the tendons in the lower leg. Many people with a high ankle sprain react strongly to their calf instead of their foot. If it bends to far, it snaps. So just depends on the force.

Good explanation of the high ankle sprain. So, if that's what happened, which ankle is broken, tibia or fibula?

Ok, Dr. facepalm, what's your answer? I guessing fibula, since it's the smaller bone and it could get in a bind that way. I've broke both bones, but not in the same manner.

It's like a Shakespearean tragedy for the Cowboys these last two weeks.

Both the tibia and the fibula are leg bones, NOT ankle bones.

The ankle is not a bone, it is a joint which consists of three bones.....the tibia, the fibula and the talus.

If it is his outsde "ankle", then it would be the fibula that is broken. Inside "ankle" would be the tibia. Lower bone which attaches to tib and fib is the talus.
