Next rumor: (another from rivals)

Martinez and Patton out; Mike Stoops and Mark Mangino suppose to happen in the next few weeks.

Here's the one I'm starting:

Bob tried to fire Venables three years ago, but B.V. showed him that picture he has of Bob and Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan. B.V. got a raise instead.

Mike is gonna coach DB's? I don't think he comes back to coach DB's.

With all the talk of Mike Stoops coming back and being the "balancing factor" for Bob, I think that the missing link is Mangino...

Granted, the guy could be a real a**hole to the players, and they may not have liked him (read Jay Smith's Prelude to Greatness), but the guy knows how to win and how to get the most out of player talent. Anybody that can take KU to the OB and can have several successful winning seasons has my respect and support...even if him coming back to the OU staff is a rumor.

Major Applewhite has been reported as a candidate to replace Charlie Weis at Florida under Will Muschamp.

That is from an article at OrangeBloods. It makes sense. The name everyone now associates with the sa*et offense is Bryan Harsin. If Major hopes to take the next step to head coach, he has to get out from both Mack and Harsin's shadows.

Doesn't Venables coach LBs and coordinate the D? Mike will do the same, except with DBs. Venables will continue to coach LBs and retain some sort of fancy title, though no longer be the coordinator.
