Interesting - OU vs BCS top 20 history [Archive]

Starting in 2000. Thought I would do a quick analysis as a way of gauging program strength as related to BCS final standings (before BCS champ game). May be an error here or there, I didn't use excel or anything.

2000

Wins vs. top 20 final BCS: Nebraska (8), Kstate (9), Texas (12)

2001

Wins vs top 20 final BCS: Texas (7)
Losses: OSU, Nebraska

2002

Wins vs. top 20 final BCS: Texas (10), Colorado (13)
Losses: OSU, aTm

2003

Wins vs. top 20 final BCS: Texas (6)
Losses: KSU, LSU

2004

Wins vs. top 20 final BCS: Texas (4)
Losses: USC

2005

Wins vs top 20 final BCS: None
Losses: TCU, UCLA, Texas, Ttech

2006

Wins vs top 20 final BCS: None
Losses: Oregon, Texas, Boise

2007

Wins vs top 20 final BCS: Missouri (6)
Losses: Colorado, Ttech, West Va

2008

Wins vs top 20 final BCS: Ttech (7), TCU (11), Cinci (12), OSU (13), Mizzou (21)
Losses: Florida

2009

Wins vs top 20 final BCS: Ostate (19)
Losses: BYU, Miami, Texas, Nebraska, Texas Tech

2010

Wins vs. top 20 final BCS: Ostate (14), Nebraska (18)
Losses; mizzou, aTm

2011 to date

Wins vs. top 20 final BCS (projected): Kstate (8 or 9)
Losses: Ttech, Baylor, Ostate

Stopped reading after this, we hadn't faced FSU yet. Next time, use EXCEL.

I'm not sure I follow the logic. Why limit it to the top 20, then add OSU (#21) in '03? Why not just make it top 25?

We didnt beat K-State in 2002 or 2003, didnt even play them in 2002. We also didnt play Nebraska in 2003.

I wasn't knocking your post, just wasn't sure why it didn't include top 25. Interesting info though.
