Lol...agree totally. This will be a total rebuild job. Right now, UAB is a joke of a program--they have no fan and very little alumni support, no facilities, no prospect of any facilities being built(mainly because Jefferson Cty is broke and in bankruptcy), and a VERY disfunctional leadership team in Pres. Carol Garrison and AD Brian Mackin. For Garrick to even have a prayer of having any success on the Southside of Bham he will need to build a base of support--because right now there is none. Energy and enthusiasm are infectious and he'll need to show both as he steps into this project.

This is no shot at GM, but the smart thing for UAB to do right now would have been to shut down the program and concentrate on what they do best --having an above average basketball program and being a top notch medical research university.
