Tonight a new episode of Fight Camp 360 on Showtime is going to air. I am really excited for the final fight in the Super Six tournament between Andre Ward and Carl Froch. The episode airs at 9:00PM tonight, so I will probably just DVR the Fight Camp 360 episode and watch The Ultimate Fighter.

Tonight Anthony Dirrell is fighting Renan St. Juste on ShoBox on Showtime. Anthony Dirrell is 23-0 and is the brother of Andre Dirrell, I believe. St. Juste is 23-2. It should be a good main event on ShoBox tonight.

Miguel Cotto weighed in at 152.25 pounds. Antonio Margarito weighed in 152.5 pounds. I doubt I will catch this fight tomorrow night at all. The Ultimate Fighter Finale will have much better fights, I think.

I do want to see what happens in the fight between Agbeko and Mares. I will just probably catch the west coast re-airing of the fight on Showtime West tomorrow night. I hope I can catch the weigh ins for this fight actually.

The Super Six has been a really good tournament for boxing. I am primarily an MMA fan, but I have always followed boxing. The Super Six has me interested in boxing again.

On December 17 Showtime is actually going to have a boxing and MMA event on the same night. It is the final fight of the Super Six tournament. Also Gilbert Melendez is going to fight Jorge Masvidal for the Strikeforce lightweight title for MMA.

I think it should be a really good night for both sports.

ATLANTA -- Secretary of State Brian Kemp says 42-year-old Roy Jones Jr., a former world champion in several divisions, will fight Max Alexander for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization's intercontinental cruiserweight title on Saturday at the Atlanta Civic Center.

The fight is sanctioned by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, a division of the Secretary of State's Office.

In 1993, Jones, who is 54-8 overall, won his first world title in the IBF's middleweight class. In 1994 he won the IBF super middleweight crown and successfully defended his title five times.

In 1996 he won the WBC light heavyweight title. In 2003, he won the WBA heavyweight championship, defeating John Ruiz in Las Vegas.

Alexander is a 30-year-old cruiserweight from Camden, N.J., with a ring record of 14-5.


Roy needs to hang it up...Is he broke or something? He got destroyed in that fight over in Russia back in May. He really hasn't even been relevant since losing to Tarver for the 2nd time back in 2005. Roy was undoubtedly great in his prime back in the early 90's fighting his way through multiple weight classes, but nowadays he is just living off his name.

I thought Amir Khan got screwed over in his fight tonight. I thought the two points taken away from him in the fight were ticky tacky. The fight started right after the UFC event ended, so I was glad that I got to see it. I do think the title that Peterson won tonight is tainted though.

Carl Froch will now fight Bute next. I just read this after I made my last post. It is a two fight deal. They are first going to fight in Montreal in April.

Floyd Mayweather was sentenced to 90 days in jail for a domestic violence charge, which he plead guilty to. He will get credit for three days already served, so it will end up being 87 days that he has to serve. The sentence starts January 6, 2012.

Ward has multiple fractures in his left hand and will be out of action for a while. It looks a little bad from the picture.

That will keep him out for awhile. I'm interested to see the Shobox card next week, with Taylor, Dirrell, and the 3rd guy whose name escapes me at the moment. I'm guess Taylor is probably shot at this point, but you never know. I don't like watching Dirrell fight, but he is talented.

Andre Dirrell hasn't fought since he got cheap shotted by Abraham, I believe. He was really messed up in the interview after that fight. I hope he is all better now. I felt bad for him after that fight.

Taylor does seem shot at this point. He got KOed pretty bad in the first phase of the Super Six tournament. I think there is less hope for Taylor than there is for Dirrell.

I am really excited for next Friday's ShoBox event. It will be a lot bigger than the average ShoBox event.

Caught this on HBO's best of 2011 they have been airing. Khan was pushing a little, but i don't think it was enough to merit point 2 point deductions. You rarely see that called. Good fight though, but Khann was stronger in the last half of the fight and deserved to win.

Thought Khan was going to move up to Welterweight division, but maybe he'll want a rematch with Peterson first. Good fighter

I think there will be a lot of television worth watching Friday night. There is the bowl game, the UFC event and the boxing event. My DVR will be busy.

I am happy that Taylor decided to move down in weight class. He got beat up pretty bad in his last two fights.

Dyah Davis is fighting Alfonso Lopez on ESPN2 on Friday Night Fights tonight at 8:00. At 10:00 tonight Raymundo Beltran is fighting Luis Ramos Jr. on ShoBox on Showtime. All times are Oklahoma times.

Davis looked really good in his fight. Lopez did not present much a challenge during the fight.

The fight between Beltran and Ramos was very competitive. Ramos won the decision, but I still thought it was a good fight.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. could not be any clearer about the opponent he wants to fight on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather wants Manny Pacquiao -- at least, if you are to believe his tweets on Tuesday afternoon.

Several hours after tweeting a photo of a betting slip from a Las Vegas casino for a $400,000 win on Monday night's Allstate BCS Championship Game, Mayweather sent out two tweets calling out and antagonizing Pacquiao.

"Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see," read Mayweather's first tweet.

One minute later, Mayweather followed with this: "My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk."

Pacquiao's promoter, Top Rank's Bob Arum, told The Los Angeles Times that Pacquiao will fight Mayweather, but not on May 5.

"June 9 is perfect," Arum told The Times from The Philippines where he is meeting with Pacquiao to talk about his next opponent. "May 5 is out, that's impossible."

Mayweather's upcoming jail sentence however, complicates the issue.

Mayweather was due to report to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas last Friday to begin an 87-day sentence. He pleaded guilty to a reduced battery domestic violence charge and no contest to two harassment charges, stemming from a hair-pulling, punching and arm-twisting argument with his ex-girlfriend in front of two of their children.

However, Mayweather's attorney successfully argued that the sentence should be delayed until June 1 so he could fulfill a contractual obligation for a fight at the MGM Grand, which he estimated would pour more than $100 million into the ailing Las Vegas economy.

Arum told The Times that he would be "willing to chip in for lawyers' fees" to get Mayweather's report date moved to allow the fight to happen on June 9.

Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's advisers, told ESPN.com that Mayweather was serious about calling out Pacquiao.

"You heard him," Ellerbe said, noting that Mayweather is personally responsible for the content of the tweets sent from his verified account.

So Mayweather is now free until June 1 and intends to fight May 5. However, he is without a dance partner.

The two names most often mentioned as potential opponents are junior middleweight titlist Saul "Canelo" Alvarez -- who is one division above Mayweather, the welterweight titlist -- and lightweight Robert Guerrero, who is two divisions below.

Alvarez and Guerrero are being named as likely opponents because they would be fairly easy deals to make. They are both promoted by Golden Boy, which has served as Mayweather's de facto promoter in recent years, promoting his last five bouts even though they do not have a formal promotional contract.

However, a fight between Mayweather and fellow welterweight champion and pound-for-pound star Pacquiao looms as the biggest fight in the sport -- and likely the richest fight in boxing history. There seems to be no legitimate impediment to making the match for May 5, Arum has not seemed interested previously.

When Mayweather was supposed to go to jail last week, Arum talked about Pacquiao fighting on May 5 to take the spot of Mayweather. The next day, when Mayweather's sentence was delayed, Arum said Pacquiao would probably have to fight in June, blaming that on a cut Pacquiao suffered in his November majority decision win against Juan Manuel Marquez as the reason -- even though a cut taking more than six months to heal is unheard of.

Arum's list of possible opponents for Pacquiao did not include Mayweather. Rather, it includes a rematch with junior middleweight titlist Miguel Cotto, whom Pacquiao stopped in the 12th round of a 2009 welterweight title bout; Marquez, for a fourth time; or a fight with junior welterweight titleholders Lamont Peterson or Timothy Bradley Jr.

After Mayweather's sentence was delayed, Arum said he was not interested in talking to Pacquiao about fighting Mayweather in May.

"We're fighting in June, one of the four guys," Arum told ESPN.com last week. "My mission is to go over to the Philippines and talk about these four guys. If Manny feels he wants to go in May, he will tell me. I want to make sure Manny's cuts are healed. We won't fall under this kind of pressure. June is much more likely for Manny's fight, not May."

Arum also said he was concerned that Mayweather might not be licensed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission with a conviction hanging over his head and jail time slated for June.

"I don't even know if Mayweather will be licensed before he serves his time," Arum said.

Although Mayweather is likely to be ordered to a hearing before the commission because of his conviction before it will license him for a May 5 fight, it is likely the commission will license him. After all, the judge in Mayweather's criminal case was swayed by the economic impact of a Mayweather fight on the Las Vegas economy as one of the reasons for the delay. It is hard to imagine the commission, all political appointees, denying Mayweather a license for a fight that would bring the local economy millions of dollars.

Dan Rafael is reporting that Froch vs. Bute is set to happen in Nottingham on May 26. No television deal is set yet. I hope that either Showtime or HBO picks this fight up. I think it could be very good. Rafael sent out a tweet like 45 minutes ago about the fight.

Apparently Allan Green will fight Mikkel Kessler at 175 pounds on May 19. I think this is a strange fight. I don't see Green putting up much of a fight against Kessler. I think it is a strange weight as well. Both have fought at 168 pounds recently. Here is a link to the article.

Lucian Bute is fighting Carl Froch today at 5:00. The fight will be on Epix. For those people that live in the OKC area and have Cox cable, Epix is channels 211 and 798. I really think this will be one of the more competitive fights of the year. If you are not watching anything at that time, you should check it out.

The fight between Bute and Froch was pretty good. I thought Bute won the first round. The second round was very competitive. Froch took over in the third round though. He ended up stopping Bute in the fifth round.

Tonight Lateef Kayode vs. Antonio Tarver is on Showtime. It should be an interesting fight.

The fight between Kayode and Tarver ended up being a draw. I thought it was a close fight. I don't have a problem with the decision. I would like to see them fight again though.

Manny Pacquiao ends up losing a split decision to Timothy Bradley. That has to be one of the worst decisions in boxing that I have ever seen. I only had Bradley winning like 3 rounds. That is a huge black eye for the sport.

Eddie Chambers fights Tomasz Adamek tonight on the NBC Sports Network. I don't know if I will watch, but it should be an interesting fight.

The fight between Chambers and Adamek was really close. Adamek was busier though. I thought he deserved to win the decision. The judges said that Adamek won. I thought it was the right decision.

NBC Sports has extended their Fight Night series through 2014. This is good news for boxing.

I honestly thought that Ward was going to go up to 175 pounds to fight Dawson. Dawson is coming down to 168 pounds though. I think this will be the toughest fight of Ward's career so far. I will definitely watch this fight. I don't agree with Ward that HBO is better than Showtime for boxing though.

I am really looking forward to this fight on Saturday. It is a free fight on HBO. I originally thought that Andre Ward was going to go up to 175 pounds to fight Chad Dawson. Dawson is coming down to 168 pounds to fight Ward though. I think this will be one of the better fights this year. They only have one loss between them, I believe. I am excited for the fight.
