A gut feeling tells me OU isn't gonna pull it off this season. Last week we couldn't put pressure on Iowa State's QB. If Weeden has all day to throw it's gonna kill our already dismal secondary.

I hope we blitz often and hard.

Still, there's just no way I can put money on OSU winning. I'd rather lose money on OU losing.

Let the record show that while thousandaires, millionaires and hundredaires alike are going ALL IN FOR OU, our resident Poke fan who talks a big game on the football forum was only confident enough to cast 15,000 of his 37,000+ vCash on his beloved OSU.

This is for you, Cowboy:

Proud, but quite mortal
Big talk your game
Oklahoma State
You'll lose again in shame
Ever you'll find Pokes
Loyal and true
Except when it comes time to bet cash on

I never bet on my beloved Broncos, although with Tebow at the helm maybe I should. I just want to make the playoffs and win our division.

I was going to save my money for bowl games but you talked me into it. Aww **** it. Go Pokes!!

Cowboy, if the Pokes win I'll make donations in your name & my grandmother's* name to the Semper Fi Wounded Warrior Fund. Okay?

*She was an OSU alum who was also one of the most ferocious OU fans I've ever known. She'd have spent this upcoming game as she always did when OU/OSU played: sitting on her hands, whimpering in misery - wanting both to win.

I really, really hope OU wins now, because it will severely reward those who are giving up their season's earnings on the Sooners and probably dump anyone with cold feet off the leaderboard :)

So anyways, it's the cool thing to do --- ALL IN FOR OU!

I have four more vRichies to contact in order to make this thing really break the vBookie vBank when OU wins. If you are buddies with them, please get on them also:

stoops the eternal pimp has a total of 1310828
Soonerus has a total of 663155
BeaSooner has a total of 303750
sOUnder has a total of 204840

As part of SF.com's own "The Giving Pledge," the vRichest SF.com poster, ATX Sooner, has graciously offered to go all in for OU also.

If you are getting cold feet or thinking that an OU loss is the only way that you'll be able to propel ahead of SF.com's vMillionaires, here's what I pledge to do to ensure that this vBookie game remains fun and competitive:

vWelfare: Anytime you go vBroke or have less than 500 vCash, you will be upped to 500 vCash after flak or I post a new vEvent. You will retain all existing vBets that you have already made even if you get vWelfare.

vOdds: I have not discussed this with flak yet, but I'm sure he's game: I will offer big payout odds in the weeks after the game should OU lose for the 17th time in over 100 years of beating the Pokes to an icky orange pulp. Thus, you will have the opportunity to make lost vCash back quickly.

vApology: I am tracking who our biggest vBettors are who are going all-in for the big game and I may post a vApology event just for you all after the fact since I am really, really pushing this on you.

In any event, this fun only started a few months ago, so even if you lose, it likely won't take too long to get it all back.

Also, please give the following SF.com posters a lot of hell:

Lott's Bandana 80000
TexSpud 25000
miesvander 500
trwxxa 500
oudivesherpa 100

They might as well be resident Pokes like CowboyMWC, because they bet for OSU and didn't make their bet anonymous

What kind of picture do you want?

A farkable one. One that isn't a tiny thumbnail, preferably one of you looking at Poke as possible. Bright orange, foam hat, hugging a sheep, wearing beer cozies as arm gear, cowboy boots, spiking your hair like gundy, doing pushups with your ROTC after you score your billionth point, getting drunk with Justin Blackmon, slapping mats with paddles... I dunno. Am I missing any stereotypes?

Special teams are units that are on the field during kicking plays. While many players who appear on offensive or defensive squads also play similar roles on special teams (offensive linemen to block, or defensive players to tackle) there are some specialist roles which are unique to the kicking game.
Kicker (K)
Also called the "placekicker", he handles kickoffs and field goal attempts. Both situations require the kicker to kick the ball off of the ground, either from the hands of a "holder" or off of a "tee". Some teams will employ two kickers, one for each role. Most however use a single kicker for both jobs, and rarely, the same player may also punt.
Holder (H)
Usually positioned 7-8 yards from the line of scrimmage, he holds the ball for the placekicker to kick. The holder is often a backup quarterback or a punter.
Long snapper (LS)
A specialized center who snaps the ball directly to the holder or punter. This player is usually distinct from the regular center, as the ball often has to be snapped much farther back on kicking plays.
Punter (P)
Punting requires the player to drop the ball from their hand and kick it from the air. It is done to relinquish possession to the defensive team. Punting is usually only done on fourth down.
Punt returner (PR) and Kick returner (KR)
Returners are responsible for catching kicked balls (either on kickoffs or punts) and running the ball back. These are usually the fastest players on a team. Teams may use the same player for both positions, or may have a separate returner for punts and for kickoffs.
Upback
A blocking back who lines up approximately 1-3 yards behind the line of scrimmage in punting situations. Because the punter plays so far back, the upback frequently makes the line calls and calls for the snap to be received by the punter. Their primary role is to act as the last line of defense for the punter. Upbacks may occasionally receive the snap instead of the punter on fake punts.
