They were open because of Robert Griffin's scrambling ability and the fact they ran zone reads and we had to move our DBs up to try to stop the run. We don't have to do that w/ Weeden unless he finds an inner scrambler. He also throws ill advised interceptions. It'll be a good game.

Earlier on 3rd and 10, our corners were standing back near the yellow line first down mark, and the isu receiver cut his route short a half step and caught the ball just short of the yellow line. our corners had backpedaled another 5 yards and had to close. if receiver runs a 10 yard route, it would have been first down.

It seems like we are playing against giving up the big play in a sort of prevent secondary scheme at all times. think about it: if I am a corner 10 yards off the line of scrimmage, the receiver gets 10 yards of full steam running, while I have to engage, turn my hips, and match him in order for him to not get open. Kind of, uh, impossible. I mean, the coaches have to know all this, right? why are we happy to allow easy completions in this scheme?

You make a good point. I don't know why Brent respects ISU's passing game so much, especially wit the wind, and a freshman QB.
