I just realized that if OU wins out and KSU wins out, there will be a 3-way tie for the conference championship. :chargrined:

Isn't the first tie-breaker head-to-head? If so, and we beat the Pokes, there's no issue. Luckily, (and IF we get by ISU), this year the bedlam game is a pseudo-championship game. But, it just happened to line up like that this year. Will that be the case next year? The year after that?

I agree, I miss the CCG.

Ummm...no. OU and OSU both beat KSU, so they're out. It'll be a two way tie between OU and OSU, with the tiebreaker going to the winner.

Edit: I too want to get a conference championship game back, I miss it...

Round Robin is a more legit way to decide a champion.

I say best of 7.

Minimum 7, I was thinking best of 21 myself.

Yep, could be 3 co-Big12 Champions this year. LOL.

ummmm...no. All teams would be 10-2. There would be a three way tie for the conference championship. All 3 being co-champions.

The tiebreaker only determines the Big12's BCS representative. (Which would be OU if we end up with a 10-2 record)

pokes are guaranteed a share of the conference. kinda makes me ill.

I really hope they'll find it in their heart to share it with us.:joyous:

In a 3 way tie, you have to throw out the head to head, surely we know that, right? So what is the official rule on the tiebreaker in this situation? Highest ranked BCS team?

If we beat them I am going to go get a picture taken in the tribute room you know they will build for that trophy. I will wear a shirt with a giant * on it and that shall be my avatar for all eternity.

I posted a link in another thread about this. We'd be 2-0 against KSU and OSU if we win out with KSU so we'd go to the BCS, but we would all be co-champs

head to head should be thrown out IF all three teams lost to each other. Just because the 3 teams in the same divison all have the same record, does not make it a 3 way tie.

I agree with you, but it does according to the conference.

1. OU (2-0)
1.OSU (1-1)
1.KSU (0-2)

Its kind of lame. Is that really how a round robin works? It shouldn't be.

On a serious note. Would all three teams get Co-Championship trophies? Or would there actually be 3 champions (with the official trophies and all)? I think I already know the answer. That is lame as ****.

The pokes could finally build that trophy shelf they've always dreamed of.

As far as I've been able to decipher the rules, it's just like the old Big 10. Everyone gets a trophy and is considered a champion, and then the bowls are what use all the H2H to decipher pecking order

were you guys complaining when we claimed the Big 12 championship in basketball in 2005?

The tie-breakers are only for the BCS as it has been mentioned. OSU is guaranteed at least a share of it at this point.
