This is why I hate not having a conference championship game. I hate co-champions. OSU fans will be claiming co-champions of the Big 12 if we beat them.

Actually we will both get trophies. That is the rule. OSU WILL be co-champions. That is why I HATE not having a conference championship game.

Technically, yes, there would be co-champs, but OU would own the tiebreaker and represent the conference as champion in the bowl season if they win.

Whatever. Let em have it. They will still know that they lost to OU on their home field when they had to win that game to play for the MNC.

Because that is the rule. That was also the rule when the Big 10, and Pac 10 did not have conference championships.

That is why a round robin schedule sucks. Its why I HATE not having a conference championship.

Its actually possible to have 3 , 4 or even 5 co-champions. There was article a couple weeks about the possibility of having 5 big 12 teams finish 7-2, and have 5 co-chamions.

That would be troublesome, but two teams is pretty cut and dried. Anyway, silly rule.

I was very confused about how a two loss OSU team was going to be co-champs with a one loss OU team...guess I should have looked at the time stamps! :)

OSU fans dreams of a Co-Championship has been crushed. They could have celebrated a Co-Championship if they lost to OU.
