Twitter was probably written in C# or jsp... why do you care about C++?

Put your question out here, give us something to go off of. I'm sure many of us know C++ to different levels, it's just a matter of how complicated your question is.

I'd say that I'm pretty proficient with C++. Don't ask about GUI's, though. When I want to make a pretty GUI, I go with C# or Java.

Nevermind, I was able to figure out what I did wrong. When I called a function, I declared an already used variable and it kept resetting. I was just being lazy. Got it figured out now. Though I would love to hear about anyone's history with programming considering im a comp science major and find it very interesting.

Took fortran. Twice. I've never been a computer person, never interested me and didn't care. After looking back on the projects I think well duhhh. That's not hard.

I took a C++ class.

That's when I realized my way in the world was through PC support with a branch out to networking.

I'm a C++ guru, FWIW. Or I used to be, I've done Java/C# for the past 5 years and rarely touched C++ in that time, so my skills have probably atrophied some.

C++ is great to know, but current technologies are pushing it into smaller and smaller niches every day. You will find that knowing C++ well will make you a far better programmer in managed languages.

Once again, VK humor results in near miss coffee/keyboard cleanup.

That's me, one fortran class back in the 80s...

Without nerds, you'd be doing internet with drums and smoke signals. :)

I love it. I am writing a program now that is football related but really hard.
