I found this at one of my rental properties. It looks like some sort of medical kit. It has hammers, old syringes, stirrups, a bullet, whiskey bottle, needles, dental tools, a bible and other stuff. It's in a case like a briefcase and everything has it's own place in a foam like tray. Some of the stuff is really old and some looks to be newer. The bottle for the swabs is glass and has a sku number on it. Wth would the bullet and whiskey be for? Confused!!!2514

I thought it was some kind of abortion kit when I saw the stirrups but there is too much other weird stuff in there.

Strange there's two mallets in there but nothing you would use a mallet with, like a chisel or a trephine.

Talking with a medical person I know, she thinks it's a kit to evacuate a cerebral hematoma. Aspirating syringes with long needles. The thing on the upper left is a cradle or headrest. There's picks to probe or lift skull fragments, suture and needles to sew up a wound as well as suture instruments.

Other than the whiskey bottle and bullet, the big rubber mallet is what's most confusing to me. It looks just like one I used to use when I was pulling a sand tanker. And if I saw those picks by themselves, I'd think of a potter rather than a doctor. Taken all together, it is a creepy looking ensemble.

In addition to that old dental kit, it also kind of looks like something you could use to assist with examining small specimens with a microscope, like some of the stuff we used back in high school biology.

Looks like a measuring device. You spread the things and it shows how wide that is on the other end. Kinda like a compass...

It could be like a vet's bag, like for animals. Does the person who left it at your property deal with animals? Perhaps that would explain the bullet... :)

I would have said it was just someones antique collection, but it appears with the new stuff and teh foam that it might have been acctually used.

Maybe the OP's tenants were methheads with extremely nice teeth who enjoyed doing carpentry on the side....

The needles are collector items...Don't know about the thing on the right, the other stuff as you mentioned appear recent.
