There were these two Woo Hoo MILPHs holding beers and wearing Quail Springs Mall all over them, trying to jump up and down and raise the roof at the beginning of each song...hoping against hope the Pixies would do a Nickleback cover.

I snickered.

I saw them two weeks ago. VERY SOLID show! I wish they had played Bone Machine, tho.

That was in their second encore set...I think it was my favorite of the night.

There's already way too many gay threads going on.

In all honesty, I've never even heard a Pixies song. I couldn't tell you if they were punk/rock/country/gospel/blue/whatever.

Saw them when they went through Tulsa, thought about seeing them this time but it wasn't in the cards

They put on a great show

Pretty basic rock really, with an odd twist.

Part of the '80's Alternative sphere...influential band without much commercial success (relatively speaking), their 5 albums inspire(d) bands from Nirvana and Pearl Jam to Death Cab for Cutie and Modest Mouse.

Move on Soldier, I don't think this is your cuppa.

MILPH?

Sorry...phonetic.

I don't think the censor lets me write ****.

This works much better for me if I'm wanting an odd twist...

But it's legitimate, well, in a slang sort of way. It means Mom I'd Like to Plow into the Headboard.

LOL. I certainly have no problem with that, but I'm laughing, wondering how you got there from the Pixies.

You couldn't have possibly picked a more perfect example of a song that influenced the genre'. Can you not hear Cobain tapping his foot to the chorus, with that bass driving the song along?

**** is censored?

EDIT: Well I'll be...

Cobain? I've never listened to any of his **** either. At least not on purpose. I think I remember a song I heard one time called "smells like something spirit?" Not a fan of the Seattle grunge bands at all. All sound the same. Growling, angst-ridden vocals? Check. Meh.

I get that.

But I fell in love with Alternative because it kicked the '80s MTV video-music to the curb and actually got us rockin again. (by us, I mean me)

Vet's lady friend at the last TG (I'm sorry I don't know her name/username) asked me if I had served in Vietnam.

When I got home, I shaved my beard.
