seriuosly. specially when blackmon looks like he's a foot taller than the corner. on that td throw, they might as well not even covered blackmon, cause the throw and catch looked like no big deal. like playing catch in the backyard with the only thing to worry about was running into the fence after you catch it

Big D Sooner
11/12/2011, 02:03 PM
You guys are being such whiny bitches. You aren't seeing this OSU game for what it is... an opportunity. If Stanford loses, then the door is open to get to the NC game. We NEED OSU to look unbeatable, we NEED then to blow people out. That way, ifOU beats OSU, then a monumental win in Stillwater will be the lasting memory for the voters. Alabama won't play that week (if LSU wins out) and I still think that voters won't vote for a rematch. OSU gives us a chance to leap over Boise and get to New Orleans.

dennis580
11/12/2011, 02:03 PM
So which game will Bama lose?

At the end of the season a lot of voters will be looking for a good excuse to not have 2 teams from the same conference in the NC game, and not to have a rematch in the NC game, and OU beating a undefeated OSU at the end of the season on the road would give them a really really great excuse. OU is in good shape if Stanford loses, and OSU is undefeated at the end of the season. Also furthermore its certainly possible Bama could lose @ Miss St. tonight or the iron bowl against Auburn.

StoopTroup
11/12/2011, 02:17 PM
OU can beat oSu by out scoring them and putting up a little pressure on them like they did last year. Also if Blackmon will choke up and suddenly have a fake injury like he did last year so he'll have something to blame his poor performance on....I think that pumps up our defense.

1. Roy Finch has been explosive and pretty productive lately. You don't have to be a 50/50 Run/ Pass team, but you do have to run the ball effectively. I think we can do that.
2. Despite losing Broyles, we still have weapons (Stills, Reynolds, Finch, Hanna). If Jones has a good game, we can still score a lot of points. We run into trouble when Jones starts air-mailing all of his passes (like he did against Tech).
3. Our defense is far more talented than anyone OSU has played. Yeah, they crapped all over themselves against Tech, but they have also had stretches of being dominant.

Against the two best overall teams that Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. have faced, Oklahoma dominated while Oklahoma St. went to the wire with KSU and it was a 4 quarter competitive game with Texas. In the games that Oklahoma shows up for, the biggest games, they rock and roll. It's safe to say that Oklahoma will rock and roll against Oklahoma St. It's a matchup issue and Oklahoma St. doesn't matchup. Their defense sucks against the better teams of the conference and Oklahoma's defensive-ends will chew up Oklahoma St's offensive tackles and sack Weeden all night long. You could jam their receivers at the line and make him hold it, you could get aggressive and cover the underneath stuff and make him hold it, or you could change your coverages up and try to confuse him. OU often doesn't have to blitz to get pressure either.

It's great to have a feeling.

It's even a good arguement if you want to say the odds are that if oSu was to finally have Bob's number....that Gundy has a lot of things going his way. OU hasn't played particularly well at times, the game is in Stoolwater, oSu is tearing it up every week, Blackmon is healthy, So many other players are putting up good numbers, oSu's Defense seems to be getting it done, OU has had lots of injuries....

It all leads towards oSu beating us.

I've seen it and heard it all. What I haven't seen is them actually pull it off. They get to play the best Team in the Big XII for their final Game. Every year since Gundy has been Head Coach....it's been to much for them to handle. This is the first time they have ever been ranked this high. This is the first time they play us and face a possible shot at the National Championship. They get that right because they face OU. They get that right if they finally pull it off.

It's never happened before....I don't believe it will ever happen. However....this is their best shot at it. if they do it....they deserve the shot. I just don't think I see them getting past us.

Our guys will play up in the game. They always have and I believe they always will.

The Big XII has even given them 2 years in a row to try and get it done. They played us lights out last year and still didn't get by us. The Sooners always step up to the challenge when it comes to little Brother.

Their defense sucks against the better teams of the conference and Oklahoma's defensive-ends will chew up Oklahoma St's offensive tackles and sack Weeden all night long. The dude is the slowest QB the Sooners have faced all season long and is a statue. This COULD happen. If we have our minds right, I believe it will, too...But first, we must ACTUALLY PLAY 2 OTHER GAMES, before we occupy Stillwater.

OU will need all defensive players healthy for the OSU game. The defense needs to play the best game all season to stop their offense. IMO they have the best offense in college football. Weeden, Blackmon and Randle are a lethal combination.

Ye of little faith. Finch didnt look that bad last week and you are giving OsU defense to much credit. For some reason I feel very ggod about this game. Seems like when things are on the line we play our best.

Maybe LJ can provide a couple of miracle throws like he did last year...OSU D is first in take aways and top 10 in redzone D...as long as LJ is oskie free and the secondary can slow them a couple of early drives like last year (except Blackmon looks like he'll be 100% this time) OU should win...still think it will be tough without Broyles and Whaley...

Just more proof that Bob didn't have the team ready to play a couple of weeks ago.

Before this Tech game OsU was ranked 100 in total defense. As another poster pointed out they do not match up well with OU. Our ends will be knocking Weed eater around all night.

I think we match up extremely well with OU. Yall aren't a very consistent running team, which is our glaring weakness obviously. I think our secondary and OLBs match up well with OU's passing game.

A big part of that is true. However, I don't think the old man has had to deal with pressure like he'll see against OU. As much as I don't like it, it's probably going to be similar to last year, with the winner probably being the team with the last possession.

Can't argue with that. Hopefully for OSU's sake though Weeden handles it well. I know many are predicting a shootout but it also wouldn't surprise me to see a 35-31 type of game. I think our defenses match up well with both offenses.

35-31 isn't a shootout? Good lord.

With their defense, only giving up five TDs is virtually a shutout. (And four of those will come in "garbage time" after the game is already over.)

In the Big 12, especially our 2 offenses, I consider a shootout when it breaks 42

I think you are wrong. OUs running game will be the difference and you havent faced quality recievers yet, I know Broyles is out but Reynolds and Stills will create problems. Our Defense is the other factor , you havent faced a defense as athletic as OU's.

On the flip side, you haven't faced an offense like ours. This game will be debated to no end for the upcoming 3 weeks, but I think these teams are pretty even. OSU fans think they'll win, and OU fans think they'll win. Each side has a very convincing argument, but we'll find out on December 3rd. Should be a great game. It looks like it will be a national semifinal afterall.

Your right we can debate this until Dec. 03. One last thing, OU will have the physcological advantage since we have been in this position many times and OsU hasnt.

I'm not sure about that aspect of it Nash....This OSU team is as loose of a football team as I've seen since some of the Pete Carroll USC teams...Especially with a QB who has already been involved in pro sports and heck, has a family...

I would bet the house OU wins this game. We seem to show up when it counts. There is more pressure on OsU than Oklahoma.

I wouldn't say we haven't been in this position. We've been here the last 3 years, only needing to beat OU to go BCS. Now, we haven't done that obviously, but I think that is just more fuel for our fire. This team has a special feeling to it. They don't get rattled ever, no matter what.

I pretty much agree with this, though I'm more of a believer in our team vis-a-vis your team, unlike in years past. I disagree with your outcome, though.

I just think we're playing better than y'all when we have to, and you're missing some really key players, unfortunately. I know we sure missed Dez and a healthy Spud a couple of years ago.

Your post pretty much boils down to you won't be convinced until we beat you. Fair enough. I feel the same way. I know a lot of other Pokes do as well.

We played them with a gimpy Blackmon last season and it took 2 miracle TD throws by LJ to win...they played us lights out in the second half...I know we have the mental edge because of history but I think we will need to score every time we have the ball and without Broyles and Whaley it will be tough to keep drives going...

They had a kick return and a pick 6. That more than made up for Blackmon being 85%.
