Unless BYU/ND or some other national OOC game we can push to T-day. aTm...no thanks.

That is a seriously unappealing prospect. One of the benefits of TAMU leaving the XII is that we don't have to play TAMU.

If we do any regular schedule with an "ex", I hope it's Nebraska. Otherwise, forget it; lots of interesting OOC matchups to be had without wasting one on the likes of maroon aggy.

If we're seriously considering an out of conference Thanksgiving game, it's retarded to think of adding anyone but Nebraska. Texas can throw away their tradition, but I want mine back.

Thanksgiving weekend is the traditional rivalry weekend for the SEC (Georgia/Georgia Tech, South Carolina/Clemson, etc). So, it would make sense from the A&M standpoint. It would also be a good chance for A&M to stick it to Texas. With all of that said, I don't think there is any benefit for OU. I wouldn't like it.

How can it get any better than Iowa State @ 11am on Thanksgiving weekend?

Having a bye week to prepare for OSU or the BIG 12 CG!

I want a time machine so we can go back to playing Nebraska, throwing oranges on the field and then popping off to spend New Year's Eve in Miami. Loser goes to the Fiesta Bowl to be played sometime in December.

You guys can have them. Don't think it would help your SOS much though. They'll be fighting for bowl eligibility from here on out as an also ran in their new conference. Think Ole Miss, Miss St., Vandy or Kentucky. Consistent W and in Texas though.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the bowl system. People just wanted to win and have fun. No computers, no MNC concerns... just fun bowl games against traditional rivals.

Anyone else think this Texas A&M's ploy to convince UT to play them so that OU doesn't get another game in Texas to get Texas state recruits?

It's a crappy ploy that won't work, but a ploy nonetheless, methinks.

PS: They have 5 wins now, correct? Here's hoping they're this year's 5-7 south of the Red River. Texas can have their winning ways back temporarily if it shuts those darn :rcmad: up

I think A&M's recruiting may be already taking a hit in the state with their move. This is probably a move on their part to keep/recruit top Texas kids. Not sure how yet another loss (on top of the weekly beatdowns they'll be getting in the SEC) is going to help them though.

Noooooo. We don't want them either. They're like the retarded cousin that also has Turrets syndrome...when they show up for the family Christmas party you feel sorry for them, but nobody really wants to be at the same table with them. Except that they are your cousin, not ours. :)

No thanks! This a very pathetic ploy on aTm's part.

And I hope that they don't link up with the Whorns again for forty years, so that two generations of Aggie dads will have to explain to their Aggie kids why their "War Hymn" is entirely focused on a school that they never play.

I am certainly in favor of this. The more games against Texas teams the better for recruiting. If this happens it would bump us up to 5 games with Texas teams(Texas, Texas A+M, TCU, Texas Tech, and Baylor).

Plus we would be playing a SEC team, and in this day, and age beating a SEC team carries a aweful lot of respect with the pollsters.

No way - any Thanksgiving rivalry game can be with one school and no other - Nebbish. It is sacred to college football.

Thanksgiving 1971 is one unforgettable day. We had gone to a big family gathering. I was 9 and wanted to hang with the men watching the game. These guys were MEN. Those types are all gone now.
As it ended up, my teenage girl cousins were driving the MEN crazy with their gushing over Jack Mildren, and were banished outside. I had to choose between girls and football. Dang, I wished I'd seen that game.

Just what college football needs, another contrived rivalry. Just like Nebraska - Iowa or LSU - Arkansas. Great long time rivalries:rolleyes:

Fixed that for you.
