Although it sounds almost too good to be true! :applouse:

It took a lot of courage for this woman to speak, what she had to say for the world to hear. The retribution could be phenomenal, but at least she was willing to take a stand on her and Australia 's beliefs.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law, were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. Me too. I consider tolerant and well-versed with a wide variety of cultures, but Muslims are the one group that are simply unable to assimilate wherever they go. Throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America there is one common denominator to the majority of violence and mistrust, and it is the Muslims. As one writer in Britain put it, however, "We extend a tremendous amount of rights and privileges to these Muslims, so that one day they can hope to take these very same things away from us."

I would imagine it is true. Australia has always had strict immigration laws and they rarely like anyone of brown skins color. Just saying.

I'm not too fond of Gillard, mostly because of her wanting to ditch the monarchy, but I fully support this position. If you want Sharia Law, move to Saudi Arabia. Seems to be the thing over there.

Right! But, they cannot evangelize you from Saudi Arabia; so, the move to the West is necessary from their perspective.

Bull sh*t! I was simply stating a fact of history. Until 1975 Australia had a whites only immigration policy. Since then it has been slowly dismantled with a lot of resistance. It wasn't until 1998 under Howard did they really started letting in Asians.

This was said in 1998:


“ I and most Australians want our immigration policy radically reviewed and that of multiculturalism abolished. I believe we are in danger of being swamped by Asians. Between 1984 and 1995, 40 per cent of all migrants coming into this country were of Asian origin. They have their own culture and religion, form ghettos and do not assimilate.[38] ”

Did you seriously just link a message board, yahoo answers, and a site that flat-out says all they do is post internet rumors as proof of something's veracity?

Hint: She didn't actually say this. It's a compilation of things other politicians said.

or to Saudi Arabia, and wear tank tops and shorts and drink beer in public,
or to Tehran, and open a rib joint,
or maybe carry a boom box around Vienna playing Hank Williams Jr.

all of that should be OK too, right? No one would have any legit reason to complain? To be intolerant of me?

This was not Gilliard. I saw the same thing attributed to John Howard about five years ago.

Aussie cities are about as racially and ethnically diverse as any others you could name. Sydney is, for instance, the world's second largest Greek city behind Athens.

the comments attributed to Howard were in the aftermath of riots caused by Lebanese immigrant groups who had attempted to enforce their dress standards on an Aussie beach. This finally ended in the beating of a female life guard by Lebanese teenagers. Aussies being Aussies, the surfers got ball bats and had a good old time with several Lebanese neighborhoods. The 'Lebs' being implicated in a large portion of organized crime in Oz and tending to live in ethnically monolithic neighborhoods are not integrating well. This is all the more ironic as they were granted immigration visas on compassionate grounds during the Lebanese civil war.

It would appear that they never really intended to become Australians, but simply wanted safe haven.

Yeah, it only gives damn near the exact same article, except then attributed to someone else back in 2005. I somehow doubt the PM went back and read that bull****.

Further, it wasn't published by the View, it was posted by a message board poster on the View's message board. Crediting that to the View is as dumb as crediting anything you say on here to David Boren.

At least TRY to think critically, man.

'White Australia' ended decades ago. While far from perfect, I'd rate Aussies as less xenophobic/racist than Americans.

Except as regards Kiwi's.
