same team two years in a row and who was the team?

I don't remember when this happen, but it must be some time ago, maybe during the Blake years.

Oklahoma State 2001-2002

Fun Fact, they haven't won since.

I think it was California in 1997 and 1998.

Yes, it seems to be OSU in '01 and '02. I did not remember that this happened under Stoops.

UTerus 2008 and 2009. Also in 2005 and 2006. Is there something I'm missing here? Did you mean other than UTerus?

The last time OU lost to an unranked team two years in a row was 01-02 to OSU.

what a lame thread.

what a lame thread.

It's kind of educational. We know that when our program is 'up' (as opposed to the Blake years, mentioned above), we are among the elite. Top 5 to 10 almost any year. And that tends to spoil the fanbase, you know? We get to where we actually expect to never lose.

But the fanbase can have an extremely selective memory, too, which makes that whole "expectation" thing even worse. This thread, or the OP, at least, serves to remind us that we all have a tendency to wear those crimson glasses. We should try to remember that, when we set our expectations for a season, or even a particular game, sometimes.

Other than that, though, it's kind of lame.

I think it was California in 1997 and 1998.

The 1997 Cal game with Travian Smith's greatest game ever! Tripping people...playing DE/LB and returning kickoffs...returning and interception for a TD.

Awesome display of the biggest waste of athletic talent ever at OU. Even without great coaching during his years at OU they guy had the skill and ability to have a nice run in the NFL. Crazy.

Not every team....:(

I really hope Robert Griffin doesn't pull a game out of his *** on us this year. I really like having a conference team that's never beaten us.

Heck, even the n00bs next year won't have that distinction.

Awesome display of the biggest waste of athletic talent not named Marcus Dupree ever at OU. Even without great coaching during his years at OU they guy had the skill and ability to have a nice run in the NFL. Crazy.
