John Brown University's first home basketball game every year is called the TP Game. After the first basket everyone in the stands hurls a roll of toilet paper onto the court. Last year, USA Today (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2010/10/heres-the-best-technical-foul-in-all-of-sports/1) wrote a story about it and this year, we're on Yahoo! Sports (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/blog/the_dagger/post/College-basketball-8217-s-best-technical-foul-r?urn=ncaab-wp5820) and ESPN. (https://twitter.com/#!/espn/status/131787459091644416) It's going to be discussed on Around the Horn, at 4 PM (CST) today.

Here's the video from this year. (not the best, we tried an alley-oop and failed, but got the put back).

Here's my favorite TP toss, from 2009 (My freshman year, a successful alley-oop)

The last two years we've been in our new arena, so it's sweet because there is a lot more people present. The 2009 one was the last one in our old arena.

I think my high school had a larger gym.

Mine too. My high school (Edmond North, ~2300 when I graduated) had a more students than my college (JBU, ~2000 undergrads).

Softer than oranges...of course the players aren't wearing helmets.

Technical foul should be called.

How long have they been doing that there? I remember seeing a clip of something like this on the Highlight Zone on KJRH in Tulsa many, many years ago and thinking it was all kinds of cool.

Actually that looks like a fun tradition.

And they are even recycling the TP. :applouse:

Very cool video. No tech foul necessary, it's a tradition that everyone anticipates... and yes, the recycling is a funny touch :D

It's a delay of game. If it's anticipated and the home team can do something to stop it, then one should be handed out. I'm not trying to be a buzzkill because it's actually pretty cool but to watch but think of it from the visiting team's perspective.

Yeah, it's a technical foul every year. The last two years the other team has missed one of the two tech free throws anyway. Not to mention we won the game this year 101-58, so it's not really a factor.

They've been doing it for a looooong time. It was until the 80s I believe that the school started embracing it instead of trying to stop it. Hillsdale Freewill Baptist has even volunteered to be our opponent in the opener for the last five years.

Mine (FTG) definitely has a larger "gym." Hell, we don't even have a gym we have a full "field house."

We're also not bible thumping crazies but that's a debate for another day. :D
