What does it taste like? I have never had one, and it looks... odd. Are there bones? And if not, why does it look like there are?

And why does it come and go so often? If people actually like it shouldn't it be permanent on the menu? I personally think people just miss the idea of having it and buy it because this could be the last time, but it actually taste like a microwavable barbecue sandwich.

I've never had one either. I think they are just formed into that shape to look like a small rack of ribs.

Here's a cut and paste of my post on 11-13-06 about the McRib: "The late Sam Kinison said of the McRib that it was an experiment by McDonald's to see if people would eat a piece of crap slapped between two pieces of bread. He said they should call it the McSh%t Sandwich. Maybe it is a yearly experiment or a way to get rid of leftovers."

And here we are 5 years later during the exact same time of year discussing the McRib again. :) I've never had one of these. I need to bite the bullet and try it at least once before this mystery meat sandwich goes back into hibernation.

It's my favorite sandwich from McDonald's. Makes eating there tolerable a few weeks a year. I had one last night, as a matter of fact. I saw the little official "Pork" logo on the marquee at the drive through, so I think it's made of pig.

I went to McDonald's a few weeks ago and I don't think there was a single white person working there, not exagerating. I don't know if you watch South Park, but the one where the futurist are 'taking their jobs'....anyway it was seriously like a scene out of that episode almost exactly word for word if you know what I'm talking about. I just wanted one of their new jalapeno chicken sandwhiches, and she didn't understand what I was saying. I had to put a mexican accent on the word jalapeno for her to understand what I wanted.

Go read the book Fast Food Nation...you may find that you never want another fast food hamburger the rest of your life. Let alone a McRib.

McDonalds confuses me. Do they want to be more like Starbucks, or more like McDonalds?

They want to be McDonalds and steal as much of Starbuck's market share of coffee drinkers as possible.
