i witnessed this yesterday. it was shameful. i have been an ou season ticket holder since 1977. as far as i know, i have never witnessed the OU student section doing this to an opposing team. i am positive there has been some heckling done in the past. i know we used to thrown oranges on the field. but, i have never seen ou fans throw stuff at an opposing football team.

in my opinion, if this happens, the game should be stopped. the visiting team should go to mid-field (in yesterday's case ... OU) and security should remove the ENTIRE student section from the stadium. THIS BEHAVIOR CAN NOT BE TOLERATED.

thank you OU students for having some class.

ps: it was funny the time i saw you toss the opposing teams football over the top of the stadium, but we probably shouldnt do that anymore either.

Heard a lot of "F*** OU" chants in there but I didn't know anything was thrown. What was it?

I saw debri being thrown after Alexander accidentally stepped on their qb.

Yeah, I was surprised they didn't try to stop that from the broadcast, but then realized how could they? Shameful non the less.

First, throwing oranges was not hooliganism--it was "Tradition."

I figured that with the "F*** OU" chants that were audible on TV that it wasn't a good time to be an OU fan or player in Manhattan.

Yeah. Our student section has been great.

Our adults? Not so much.

I still remember '85 vs. NU when the NU player returned the fumble for a TD in the waning moments preventing the shutout.... he was pegged numerous times by oranges thrown from the stands by our mature, well-behaved hillbillies.

We have idiots, too. Let's not pretend otherwise.

But I say that, with the caveat that now that CU has left the conference, only the Taco Tech scum scrape lower in the barrel than your run-of-the-mill KSU fan.

That's always classy.

I really hate that our fans throw the football over the back of the stadium. It used to be a funny every couple if years thing when we played osu, now it's just lame....

I agree with that, btw. One of the places I will never go again. '96. Utter hell.

At least they are made of plastic now. Back in the day when it was reported that bottles were thrown at someone during a game, you knew it was a glass bottle . . .

I was at the game. It was no big deal. They threw some stuff, but nothing like the old Orange days. It only happened for a few seconds and I don't think Alexander even noticed. KSU fans aren't angels by any stretch of the imagination, but they weren't so bad Saturday. I was in the stands with my 10 years old and we had a great time.

I was real close to the same thing happening. If it wasn't for Mike Zygenhorn From KTUL-Tulsa Channel 8 being right there with a cameraman....I think it would have gotten really bad for my Brother and I. They started throwing cups of pop at us right after they got their *** handed to them in 2000 up there. At first we just looked at each other and kind of laughed as I knew they were upset.....then it started to turn pretty ugly. I'd go back up there....those pussies don't scare me. I'd make sure I had an attorney on speed dial though. They would just take you to jail for your own safety of course. Also....do not drink alcohol up there....it's only allowed if it's them.

I've never seen stuff like that happen when they come to Norman. Anytime I've ever seen an OU Fan act like that...other OU Fans put a stop to it.

Also....the OU Fans in this thread that had OK experiences. Good for you. You are very lucky.

Hearing the crowd yesterday I was afraid they were going to storm the field and lynch our team.

Trust me, I could sense that it would be a bad deal getting out of that place if they ever beat us in there. I had a good time, but they weren't Alabama, FSU, even Nebraska fans by any stretch of the imagination. The 'Bama and FSU fans were fantastic on the road and I've had several good times in Lincoln even after losses. But they weren't anywhere near LSU or even Payne County Vo-Tech in '02. Sort of in the middle. I'm sure that could all change with a few more wins, which I suspect is on the horizon for them. What Snyder has done there is simple amazing. KSU has some tradition now and that fan base that had all those great seasons hasn't given an inch.

How did they throw? Was Snyder watching? Maybe he can find someone to replace his noodle-armed QB.

If you look closely at the ksu folks, it's obvious they don't get much ultraviolet sunlight in that part of the country.

I could tell a story or two about spending the night in the RV/tailgating in Manhatten/an. Long story short. You put the .357 under the little prick's nose and say "you slap the side of the RV again and you're gonna die" and it's amazing how quiet it gets around your RV.

I went with a friend and his family back in 2000..at the end of the game, we were trying to leave and my friend had his 7 year old son by the hand..some KSU'rs starting calling the little boy a f*ggot for holding his dad's hand...I basically lost it and things got ugly..Said some things I probably shouldn't have said..They are throwing bottles and stuff and security shows up..the mildcat morons go outside the stadium to wait on us to come out, so the police escorted us to my SUV....

That's a terrible solution. I think you're a little over-heated about this, considering that a huge chunk of the student section would NOT have thrown anything, and would be punished for the boneheaded behavior of someone whom they couldn't even stop. And since no one was ever in any real danger.

But I agree, show some class K-State fans. Show some class.

Nothing to do there. Its the only place where people make reservations for Applebee's(Seriously, there was a line around the building), and got excited about about a Gap opening up. What a taste of crap during the 2000 game.

A few observations from the game:
1. the student section was loud, especially for the first half.
2. they did throw water bottles at the OU bench and the players DID notice. The players turned to the crowd, threw up their hands - like what the F*** are you doing. They were throwing the bottles after the non-foul on the "hit" on the qb out of bounds. I would guesstimate there were probably 20-30 thrown and they did land within the OU players.

3. We were in the sheep farm parking area and really didn't have any problems, but the 2 brothers that have the loud speakers and the smart car, had some flags stolen on Friday night.

4. The non-students were fine, except for the gawd awful purple they were wearing.
5. I think this is Yermon and his blonde secret girlfriend:
