Big 12 Women's Soccer championships start Wednesday!

There were 9 teams competing in Women's soccer this season and the top 8 made the Big 12 post season tournament. OU finished tied for 8th (gulp) but won the head to head tiebreaker over Iowa State and is the 8th Seed. The quarter finals are Wednesday the 2nd, Semis are Friday the 4th, and the Finals are Sunday the 6th and all played in San Antonio, TX.

Game 3 5:30 p.m. #1 Oklahoma State vs. #8 Oklahoma

Game 6 8 p.m. G2 Winner vs. G4 Winner

Sunday, Nov. 6

OSU looking for the 4-peat but not sure if we'll get it this year. I think we should but it'll be tough in a rematch with AnM if we get by OU and Texas.

You should be able to watch all of the Quarterfinals and Semifinals matches online at the link above. Then the finals are on FSN.

OSU beat OU 1-0 and 3-0 in the regular season. About the only realistic hope I give OU to win on Wednesday is perhaps some momentum from that surprising road win over Kansas in their last game and maybe OSU looking ahead to the NCAA tournament where they'll be one of the top favorites to win it all.

The first two quarterfinal matches have been upsets!
#5 Texas beat #4 Texas Tech 1-0
#6 Missouri beat #3 Baylor 4-3 in Penalty Kicks (after a 2-2 double OT tie)

Next up at around 5:20pm is #8 OU vs. #1 OSU (which you can see online at Big12Sports.com)

It's halftime and they are tied 0-0! OU is being more aggressive than usual but not enough to make a goal yet.

About 87 minutes into the 90 minute match, OSU scored the only goal of the match and defeated OU in women's soccer 1-0. OU's season is over. :-(

Friday, November 4 (Big 12 Semifinals)

Soccer #5 seed Texas vs. #1 seed Oklahoma State 5:30 p.m.
Soccer #6 seed Missouri vs. #2 seed Texas A&M 8:00 p.m.

In Semifinal action tonight, OSU defeated Texas 1-0 in Double OT and Texas A&M defeated Missouri 3-0 so it is the top 2 seeds in the finals. The winner on Sunday gets an automatic bid to the NCAA and at large bids will be announced on Monday.

Congratulations to the Aggies of Texas A&M for defeating OSU in the Big 12 women's soccer finals this afternoon 1-0 which also gave OSU their first loss of the season. The NCAA post season tournament is next.
