View Full Version : Stoops' thoughts on the lack of a Big XII Championship game

Following our national championship in 2000, I remember Stoops complaining a lot about how "unfair" it was that the Big XII champ had to play in a conference championship game, while most other conference champions did not.

Strikes me as ironic nowadays, with every other major conference playing a championship game, but the Big XII going without.

I haven't seen him discuss this recently. Does he now see this as an advantage? Anyone have anythoughts to share?

I think at the time he said that, it was only the Big XII and the SEC that had conference championship games. Which, at that time, was kind of "unfair".

Now, given most of the AQ conferences have them, it's almost "unfair" not to have one.
