Pretty sad that a program of OU's stature doesn't have a real kicker. I said weeks, maybe months ago, it could possibly cost us.

Now those FG's are really stinging

Field Goals, dropped passes, wasted Time Out, missed blocks in back (except against OU)...

yeah we would have won if he made both of them, but dont blame this game on the kicker.. OU played like complete **** both on O and D in the first half and some of the 2nd.. PERIOD

I didn't realize we didn't have Wort until I heard it late in the game. No Wort. No Flemming. No Whaley. But still we just didn't play worth a hoot tonight on both sides of the ball and on special teams. Happens.

We do need to find a field goal kicker though.

Blame the coaches, not the kicker.

Why not run a running play that would have set up the FG to be kicked down the middle instead of from the left hash marks? Why did it take the coaches over an entire half to move Colvin over to the corner position? Why does Venables continue with his garbage soft zone defense that consistently gets exposed against spread offenses? Shouldn't he at least have a clue on how to defend against it? Why did our corners line up 10 yards off the line of scrimmage the entire game?

I think the only positive from this loss is maybe Stoops realizes either he needs to make changes and Heupel is learing on the fly on in game adjustment and to not abandon the run (the 1st half)...

You can't expect to play man against a spread offense the whole game.

I agree. At no point in the last several years has Venerables ever shown that he can create a defense that can play well against TT at home.

it is totally and completely on Stoops that we don't have a kicker. That problem has been there for how long now?

I wonder how much it would help to have a dedicated special teams coach? Could we get a waiver from the NCAA on the number of allowed coaches? Then maybe we could get a specialist in here.

Speaking of kickers, have you EVAR seen an easier on-side kick to field than the softball we laid up?

The players didn't execute as well as they needed to, on so many plays.

I actually had a dream last night of the football hitting the goal post.

Thanks Sooners for giving my a bad night's sleep.
