bowling OU stadium as far as capacity is concerned.

Would the stadium have a capacity of 100,000?

I don't think teh balls would roll well on the grass. Seems like a bad idea to me.

Another thread about this? Were NEVER bowling in the stadium in its current format. Why can't people like our staium the way it is?

Our stadium should max the enjoyment for all those that attend and be the perfect # to match the demand for the Ball State games. Not sure 100,000 would be the right #.

If we need to emulate a stadium then find the one with a better W/L record since Stoops and lets take a look at that stadium.

we need to bowl the stadium in for more sound. we've got to find a way to win some games in norman. our home record is pathetic

Why add 15,000 bad seats.....

No point in adding seats right now, and if they do, it wouldn't be the corners. Those aren't money seats.

If they ever expand again, it won't be them closing off the south endzone, it will be connecting the upper decks on the north side. But they really need a new pressbox and lighting system before they do anything like that.

The bitching and moaning on this site about attendance and crowd noise would reach astronomical levels if we bowled in a bunch of crappy seats.

Here's a thought: Let's not engage in any discussion on this, a discussion board. Then everyone can be happy happy joy joy.

Sure would look better if they bowled it in. But I guess it could be worse we could have aTm's pathetic endzone.

There is a decisive home field advantage when the game is on the northern half of the field. I think that's enough reason to consider bowling it in.

The only argument against it that holds water is the argument that we're not going to spend the money to create crappy seats. (Well, the ticket demand argument is a good one too.)

The other arguments just simply don't make sense. The heat? You don't think it's hot in other places where they have bowled stadiums? The difference in pitch betweenthe south endzone and the east/west lower decks? Big deal. They're very close and plenty of other stadiums (Ohio State / Nebraska) have closed in their endzones in ways that don't totally match up. The Switzer Center? Give me a break. It wouldn't take extreme engineering to make it work without impacting the Switzer Center.

Why bowl it in (if that is a real term)? That just means more people for me to yell at! Sit down and shut up! I didn't pay for this ticket to see your *** and hear you scream like a monkey!

I get that, and you have a valid point.

But I'm guessing a reasonable amount of people dedicate some time to jobs / school / families / masturbation / other hobbies, so they don't get around to reading all 700 threads in the forum.

Just sayin' ...
