. . . wondering what they have to do to earn some respect.

They demolished tOSU and nebbish, are 6-0 and ranked #4 in the country.

So what happened when the BCS rankings came out?

Wisconsin is #6, behind two states: Oklahoma and Boise, both of which trail them in the polls.

Are you angry, Bret? You look angry.

Computers certainly thought high of OSU....honestly though, them being behind BSU is a joke. The conference they are in probably doesn't help too much either. They looked terrible in non conference games. tOSU got destroyed by Miami and almost lost to Toledo.....

They will pass Boise if they keep winning. No doubt about that.

And it sucks that they could be the odd man out. They have upgraded their Rose Bowl team with Wilson as QB.

Just remember how we all felt after being the butt of every Statue of Liberty joke for an entire offseason. They had to deal with practically the same situation, where they were a highly touted team relegated to playing a mid-major in a big bowl game, only to get shown up on national television.

It sucked. Have a little sympathy.

On that note, the BCS is made to exclude all but two teams from the national title game, and all but 10 teams from the big money BCS bowls. If you aren't one of the lucky two or lucky 10, tough. I think we understand that and Wisconsin understands that and everyone else that has been in the BCS bowls understands that.

(if OSU starts whining, it's because they haven't been there yet. be patient with pokie...)

When did Wisconsin beat tOSU?

Last year, leading to the three-way-tie for the Big Ten and a Rose Bowl berth :D

If they were to bragging about any win at this point in the season, it would be against the Nebbish Bugeaters.

They shouldn't worry. We will clear a spot out for them as soon as we drop the game against KSU.

This Saturday is October 22nd. Wisconsin played an incredibly poor non-conference schedule. THIS Saturday is their first road game.

First road game on October 22nd.

They are where they should be.

This. Right now, Nebraska is their only halfway decent win. They're lucky to be ranked as high as they are. OTOH, with a relatively easy schedule compared with other teams in the top 5, it's possible they could backdoor their way into the BCS championship game. Time will tell.

The Badger staff will be working overtime this week, putting names on the back of their white jerseys for their first road trip. This, in some instances, could be a disaster. Except they are stepping down in class by playing Purdue. Maybe it's lateral from Indiana.

They have definitely played a light schedule, but they have looked extremely good in taking care of business, and when they faced a quality team they steamrolled Nebraska. The major cause for irritation for their fans should be that a couple of the ridiculous computers and their inexplicable formulas don't even have Wisconsin in the top 10 (as low as #20 in one of them) and that is why they are behind teams in the BCS that they are ahead of in the polls. That's a traveshamockery.

C'mon now, they did have a neutral site game against the diabolical Northern Illinois Huskies (a team that lost to Kansas).

Yep... still an incomplete system for determining champions and who gets to play in which bowls. But a playoff system would subject players to injuries... look at how tough the game has been already to players just 7 weeks into the season.

The BCS says, "Badgers? We don't need no stinkin' Badgers."ain't no stinkin badger outrun Boomer and Sooner pulling that roughneck wagon at full speed, or even an Alabama elephant in full gallup, chasing an hapless tribesman, armed only with a stinkin' spear!

A badger might could outrun an orange aggy with a Pistol Pete head on, after a full day's sheep humpin', though.

According to the cbssports.com 120, Wisconsin is number 14, behind schools like Houston, Va Tech, Michigan, South Carolina, and Oregon.. Maybe they ought to consider themselves lucky to be at number 6?

Although it IS a little bit hard to take seriously any ranking that has OSU 1 and BSU 2, Houston 10, Wisky 14, and Texas 15 notwithstanding. On a related note I have no idea how the 120 is compiled, but since 'Bama and LSU are 4/5 respectively it obviously doesn't take into consideration SEC speed, SEC d-lines, and SEC running backs. Looks like somebody ought to pay more attention to announcers!
