Almost identical to last week, but, looks like we lost a first place vote to Bammer. :upset:

so explain the logic why ESPN uses the AP poll as "rankings"

just curious?

They have the SEC contract, so they hype LSU and Bammer more than they hype us.

Fox has the Big XII, so I bet they're using the coaches' poll.

Frankly I am glad to see Boise dropping in the polls. If OSU keeps winning then having them as a highly ranked team will make that victory extremely sweet!

On the topic of which polls people use, I think you'll see ESPN start referring to the BCS ranking soon since they own that too now.. :-)

The media insists on using the AP rankings because they are the AP. It is their natural bias to want to remain relevant. The fact that their rankings are literally irrelevant is a fact they convieniently ignore.

If you're getting to the point where rankings should be more based on what teams have done rather than what you think they'll do, KSU is vastly underrated. KSU's has four wins over non-crappy BCS conference teams, two of which are on the road. Most of the one loss teams ahead of them don't have as good of wins, let alone an undefeated record. I understand that expectations play a role at this point, but KSU is really getting no love.

Granted, I think they would have lost to most of the teams that the one-loss teams ranked ahead of them have lost to, but I'm still surprised to see this low after week seven.

on the road too, as long as we are sending out reminders.

LSU and 'bama were only up 10 points at the half of their games too, another FYI.

Not correct

Tier 1 SEC rights are with CBS, tier 2 with ESPN

Tier 1 Big 12 rights are ABC/ESPN, Tier 2 Fox

Table not transferring right but you get the point.

ESPN uses AP because they are media. When the BCS comes out, they will use BCS.

Also aTm being ranked but Texas un-ranked shows how important pre-season poll are. Texas has two losses to better competition.

LSU fans down here have always said that USC's AP Title in '03 was bogus. Now, that they're #1 in that same poll, it's suddenly legit. Kinda the same thing you're referring to.
