I have to see the ads for that abomination of a network all the time and everywhere I go here in Austin. I somehow manage not to hurl. But here? This is piling on.
If they think that advertising here is a wise use of their advertising budget they are bigger morons than I thought.
Regardless
Can we make them just go away?
Please

Many ads are based on your browsing history. Any trip to ESPN will likely trigger LHN ads. On this site I see adds for LHN, computers, travel, and Zappos. Pretty spot on.

This. And it's also likely based on the location of your IP address. For instance, I live in London, so I don't see LHN ads. I often see ads for Sky (the UK version of Dish or DirecTV).

Basically, ads from 100s of advertisers are loaded into an exchange, then the system feeds them to sites based on things like IP address location and history. It's based on relevance, but not so granular that it understands that this board is loaded with OU fans that don't give two ****s about the LHN. To the system, this board is loaded with a bunch of people that live in Texas, some of whom have visited Horn sites.

And if the owners want the ad revenue, I doubt there's much they can do to stop the LHN ads.

They need all the publicity they can get plus it should make any Sooner fan laugh when they see it.

My neighbor is an avid Longhorn fan & he thinks the LHN is a joke. He can't figure out how to get it & he's got about 6 satellite dishes on his roof, and his monthly TV bill is the same as my house note.

Someone might want to tell the people in charge of placing radio ads that the current "Watch Case McCoy and Jaxon Shipley" promo has some edits needed. :)

Can anybody in Texas even get the Longhorn Network???

I know that Texas' strategy is to keep the Big XII going long enough for their network to take off, then they don't care what happens, but is it even moving down the runway?

They still have not signed anyone new, they still have the six small cable systems, a medium sized system in Grande Communications that serves the UT campus and a few thousands homes near the campus along with San Marcos and some other markets. They are on Verizon Fios, that is their only national carrier and it is available in some of the suburbs around DFW. They still are not on Time Warner (which is the primary carrier in Austin and San Antonio), Comcast, Directv or Dish.

Don't forget U-Verse! Mushberger, in his whoring out on-air ad, said for all U-verse customers to keep calling!

The Longhorn Network is quickly developing Yeti like status. People are assuring us that it is out there, but no one has actually seen it.

This is really hurting our ability to recruit the Great State of.

LOL! Funny and true. Most of the people that want the network, can't get it...hahahaha!

I don't have to worry about seeing the ads locally much longer....I move to Denver at the end of the month. Now it will just be the ESPN/ABC games where I will see them. I don't see any on here, I see no ads at all.
