Bob Stoops has passed Barry as the master of hanging half-a-hundred. Barry did it 33 times in his career and Bob is now at 35.Overall OU has done it 142 times,which is #1.Nebraska is #2 with 136; no other program has reached the century mark in 50+ point games. On a sidenote Bob has now hung-half-a-hundred on the Orange Cows(3) times,Bennie and Barry once each.

Mack has class and doesn't run up the score. They coulda put half-a-40 on us last week had they wanted to.

Yeah, he was such a gentleman last year, he refused to run up the score on UCLA, ISU, Baylor, a&m, KSU and OSU, though he did do a number on Florida Atlantic . . .

I would like to see the stat of how many games of 50 + vs top 25 teams...Some of those teams that Switzer destroyed were pretty horrible

Switzer scored over 50 1 time vs a ranked opponent....being texas his first season in 73....Also Gary Gibbs scored over 50 1 time vs a ranked team in hist first year..vs Pitt

I don't care how weak the other team is. If they can't stop us it's their fault for scheduling us and not being ready. I think Oklahoma should try to score half-a-hunerd against every opponent. I revel when they succeed.

. . . going 1-8 in those games, with the lone win being that 84-42 scoring fest with the puffs in 1980.

With the option offense OU ran under Switzer it was hard to give up 30+ because OU ate the clock so much. Most of the time if OU gave up 30+ in the Switzer era they were getting blown out.

I love both Switzer and Stoops, just not blind.

Switzer was a better championship coach, ie: defense.

I don't really want to pile on the coaching staff due to the fact that we're far and away the best program in our conference. I just wish 3 years from now, when some random sportscastor starts commenting on Sooner football, the first thing he mentions is something to do with defense.

This isn't a different era. Not when it comes to the importance of defense. Ask all the teams that have played Alabama and LSU.
