2000 - Michael Thompson rips the ball out of the UT receiver's hands

Almost the same spot on the field as Flemming's this year

But Flemming updated that play by taking it to the house. There were so many enjoyable plays in the game Saturday, but Flemming's might be my favorite - it was so "in your face". Converting that 3rd and 25 ranks up there too. LJ and Reynolds made it look so easy and routine.

Saturday was full of huge plays on both sides of the ball. Hopfully we get to see more of that.

With 2nd and goal in the 4th of that game, OU lined up. The announcer said, "Everyone in the stadium knows where the ball is going here." (Griffin had 5 TDs at that time). Thing is, everyone knew, but NO ONE could do a damn thing about it!

Looks eerily similar.... wait... that team went to the title game that year.... hmm.... coincidence?

I think not!

"And if Quinton's grandkids are watching this tape in the VCR...if they still use VCR's in the year 2050....he was all that and more today"

Michael Thompson had so much potential - his accident was a terrible thing. He could have had a great pro career.

Man, I loved that 2000 team. They weren't 5-stars, but they were football players.

Michael Thompson was a great Sooner or should I say IS a great Sooner! The accident set him back, but even still the guy had some sick raw talent!!!!

One thing I caught was that Thatcher had 3 interceptions the previous game and one the texas game just like Jefferson did this year.

Thatcher had around 8 INTs that year...and he couldnt cover a thing..He was just a ball player..Our kick and punt return teams should watch some film of that team and see how it was done...Returners need to run north and south and blockers do their job..

I sure miss that shovel pass and the wide receiver run inside the red zone.

As soon as I saw the play, I thought of Thompson. It should have been on plays of the week.

Also, in 2000, Calmus had in INT for TD like Hurst.

Perhaps a different discussion for a different thread, but...

Could Q. Griffin possibly be the biggest Longhorn killer of all time (from OU's perspective anyway)? Dude had some good games against them...

Strangest thing (IMO) about Q's 6 TD game was that he didn't even have 100 yards rushing. Dang endzone kept getting in the way.....:D
