According to a column in the Oklahoman today, Whaley has a vertical leap of 40 1/2 feet.

If he can jump that high, why don't we start passing it to him?? No defender could touch him..............

BTW, AD's was listed at 39 1/2 feet.

And yes, it says feet, not inches.

With a 40 ft vertical, I'm pissed he wasn't jumping into the endzone from the 20

I don't keep up with those kind of stats. How does he compare with a big time basketball player?

Well, they say he has a 40-foot vertical, but he's still human. The 40-foot fall at the end would cripple him. You've got brains, guys, use 'em.

Whaley doesn't jump. He just pushes the earth away with his feet.

Assuming they meant 40 inches... that is extremely good. The average NBA player (including stiff centers) is 28".

We do throw it to him. And a 40" vertical is about as good as it gets. Impressive.
