After I wrote that, I went back and figure that out; however, it also depends on the margins within each. Even though I am number/stats/money guy, i don't have the time to figure that out.

Interesting--no teams from the state of Florida, and notice Boise continues to fall. First time since late in 1982 that the polls have nobody from the sunshine state.

As for the top 3, my observations after watching all three play yesterday and their opponents--I think, and this could change with 6 weeks left in the season, that either Bama or LSU would beat the Sooners if the game were played in New Orleans. With Brantley at qb, Florida would beat Texas and I actually think Vandy/Texas would be a good game. No way Texas even belongs in the top 20 and that will be borne out as time goes on.

As long we all three keep winning though, it will all be settled on the field and there will be no controversy about who ultimately has the best team.

Also, you must remember that the BCS does not use the rankings from the Coaches' and Harris polls - they use the point totals. In other words, if LSU is #1 and we're #3, but the point difference is small, it's not going to make a whole lot of difference.

First, this OU team is the first time since 2000 that i really feel that they have IT! IT being the drive and heart to finish a game and play hard the whole time on offense and defense. LSU and Bama are overrated in my opinion and this will be exposed!! The season is young!

Clemson Cracks Top 10 In Computer Rankings
by CFP Staff
October 9, 2011

Texas and Texas Tech each suffered their first defeat of the season and plunged from their top-11 rankings of a week ago in the most recent edition of the Congrove Computer Rankings, released early Sunday morning.

Then-No. 11 Texas was routed 55-17 by top-ranked Oklahoma while then-No.10 Texas Tech was upended 45-40 by then-No. 1 Texas A&M. The Longhorns fell 14 spots to 25th with the severity of the loss while the Red Raiders dropped 9 places to 19th.

Oklahoma and Alabama kept their hold on the top two spots, but Boise State slipped into 3rd for the second time this year. LSU and Oklahoma State round out the top 5.

Wisconsin, Stanford, Michigan and Oregon retained the No's. 6-9 spots in the CCR Top 120, while Clemson took Texas' spot at No. 10.

Missouri and Florida exited the top 25 after losing to Kansas State and LSU, respectively. The TIgers were ranked 16th before their 24-17 loss at the Wildcats and the Gators were No. 20 before getting run over 41-11 at LSU.

Arizona State, a 35-14 winner at Utah, moved in at No. 23. Cincinnati, which was idle, moved up to 24th.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion! I'm just glad that it will ultimately be settled on the field--with Bama, LSU, and you guys all getting to make their case and be given the opportunity to back it up.

"I think, and this could change with 6 weeks left in the season, that either Bama or LSU would beat he Sooners if the game were played in New Orleans."

Any number of things could change who I think is the best--in six weeks of polling so far I've changed back and forth twice on who I thought should be ranked no. 1, between you guys and LSU. I just happen to be of the opinion that, based on what I've seen each team do so far, that would be the outcome IF the game were played in NO. I'd probably give your guys a slight edge if it was played in Norman.

It would be a cryin' shame if LSU were to lose to Auburn and go into Tuscaloosa at 7-1. Sure would take some of the lustre off the new "Game of the Century".

Considering that Auburn failed to beat Arkansas on the road to the tune of 14-38, I'm not too worried about that happening in Baton Rouge.

Rest assured that both Bama and LSU will be 8-0 coming into BDS on Nov. 5.
