Does this guy get a bonus for sucking off the horns?

Yes. He is the master horn sucker.

Now he's being forced to acknowledge how fantastic our offense is. I don't care about announcers complimenting teams as long as the compliments are merited.

He only gets a bonus if there's a happy ending.

And he pulls out his teeth.

And as predicted by every board I have seen............we are winning due in big part to the youth of the whorens.

Well, there's a lot of truth to that. Their QB's are about as wide-eyed as you can get right now. The glimpse of a white jersey is putting them in a fetal position.

What I thought was stupid was the ongoing irrelevent and inane comments he made regarding Stoops revenge motives to run up the score because the former Boise State OC was now in charge of the Texas offense and Stoops hasn't forgotten the Fiesta Bowl and the statue of liberty play. What idiocy. I understand it coming from Musberger, but what shocked me was Herbsreit actually bought into that line. I always give him some credit for a lick of sense.

I'm sure Stoops had it on his mind the whole game some revenge points on the long past Fiesta bowl...........not. Anybody that follows Stoops at all know that what he's all about is the here and now and the future. The past holds no lingering for him. That's part of what makes him a great coach.

Yeah, wtf was that about? If it's in texico, they can call it a sombrero.

My biggest issue with Musburger was he mentioned the kickoff return every time anyone touched the ball.

It was pretty funny though when he said, "....and Bevo can take no more." Then the camera pans to that big o' longhorn *** turned to the field.

I thought the best line was when they ran the misdirection out of the wildcat. He said "they will run it out of the wildcat. And they can throw it"

NO kidding Brent!

I hope so and surely there is a little Colby McCoy and Jesse Shipley out there that can lend a hand in the future too.

What I found funny was the announcers were looking to give Texas every advantage. such as when Tony Jefferson intercepted that pass and Musburger was calling for interference. Or when Broyles caught the TD their first instinct was to ask if he was in the end zone then when that didn't work they tried the well were his feet in? Also to not overturn that interception before halftime was just an atrocious call.

The game was obviously a lost cause by the 4th quarter for the Horns and "Burnt" Mussberger says that the Sooners still have their 1st stringers in at D...Yeah, there might have been a few, but he really needs to watch the game. The Sooners had shuttled their D Line in quite a bit. Just because it wasn't wholesale changes leads some to believe that there isn't any substitution going on. Wake up, Herby & Burnt! Life is good..

UT still had their starters in anyway, calling timeouts with less than 2 minutes left. F 'em

You said it. If they are still trying to score, is OUr team supposed to stop trying to keep them out of the endzone?

Musberger/Herbstreit did a terrible job today. They seemed pained that texas was getting dominated so thoroughly and couldn't bear to admit the reality that OU is a far superior team.

Musburger could not do radio. Here is a gem from his 2nd QTR screen to Jaz: “And he did that time, but he drops it off on the juggle to Reynolds again, ….and Reynolds has another, …puts it down near midfield to….regains it.”

Note: …..= a slight pause, or a hitch in his gittyup

And people complained about BBS. :)

a golden sombrero is 4 strike outs by a single player in a baseball game.

Glad I was at the game and did not have to listen to the ESPiN/ABC doofusses.

I am sure the following gem from Brent Musberger caused the demise of several dozen TV sets in Texas due to thrown objects:

"...and folks, Bevo can't stand to watch it anymore! He has flat turned his back on the Horns..."

Brent Musberger has the unique ability to turn the fans of both teams against him when he announces the game. I think they know that, but it works the same as when they had Howard Cosell on Monday Night Football. Musberger need not be a likeable character, just a character.

I think Lushburger is typically drunk during games he's announcing. He's got some Eddie Sutton in him. I'm sure there is a story or pic of him peeing on a playground somewhere. lol

Didn't read the entire thread but the one that got me was when we forced the fumble and we were literally snapping the ball before Herbie or Musberger realized that there had been a fumble. Meanwhile the cameras were showing the OU coaches jumping around and slapping the defensive players who were coming off the field.

I suppose I'll give them a little break. I'm sure they're doing about 10 things at once in the booth. It's just that Herbie is better than that. He usually doesn't miss these things.

IIRC he started out with golf before commentators were required to be players of the game rather than golf historians. He did dress the part nicely as an English golf historian at that time though.
