I think the Phelps family lives in fear of excommunication from their families and being cut off financially if they don't participate in the patriarch's crazy protests and crap.

I always remind people that just because Fred Phelps is a crazy bigot, that's all that it means.

It doesn't mean that all other democrats are crazy bigots.

It doesn't mean being a democrat made him the crazy bigot he is.

All those times he ran for office as a democrat in the 90s and 00s - noone elected him.


So please everyone, keep that in mind.
