Why not just call this conference the Big 8?

it's really no worse than the old big 8 we seem to miss.

Basically we've just replaced Nebraska and Colorado with Texas and Texas Tech
Mizzou with Baylor

Basically it's like the old big 8. Two big boys and an occassional appearance by OSU or some other school just like the old days.


I'm diggin it.

I'm down with it. I miss the old Big 8. Close as we'll ever come at this point.

This idea is much better than adding the SMUs of the world; I'll give it that.

Thought I read somewhere that a conference has to have 10 teams to be a BCS Conference. Is that accurate?

It's as crappy or worse than the old Southwest Conference. And, so, Boren and Castiglione will probably like it.

Its way too weak at 8. We would clearly be aminor conference as the SEC, Pac 12, Big Ten, and ACC get stronger, and stronger, and stronger. It would also really hurt us in the BCS, and cost us shots at national championships. The only way to go is to get at least 12 teams so we can have a conference championship game.

Thought I read somewhere that a conference has to have 10 teams to be a BCS Conference. Is that accurate?

The Big East only has 8 football members and they're a BCS league...kind of.

It is very possible an undefeated Big XII champ could get left out the mnc game when it is passed over by a team from a conf that has a ccg. Might even happen this yr.

Gotta have 12 teams to stage a ccg...
