For all the bitterness, that mostly exists with the fans, there is so much that is good about this rivalry and game. I think it's the best rivalry in college football. It happens at the best time of year (October) and the atmosphere at the Texas State Fair is one of the best there is. There's all the color, the unique splitting of the stadium, the history behind the "Red River War, and usually, the stakes are high.
Anyone that says they didn't care if this game went away isn't thinking too clearly.
