Our opponents >>>> *s, by far. * Hasn't even played a potent rushing team. I think we get tons of rushing yards against them.

I haven't heard anyone say that. Well, I have heard some ESPN guys say they are back to being Texas....but, I pretty much discredit anything ESPN says about anything to do with college football.

They have a good defense, the question is "how good"? I'm nervous already, and it's only Sunday.

ESPiN = Talking heads. Which doesn't mean they are correct.

And that vested interest is paying no dividend right now...LOL

I think Texas is way better then last year but they still havent played anybody.. We'll see though very soon how good they are..

Will be tough to compare so early in the season but the level of talent hasn't been as close as what OU has had to play.

That being said... all bets are off as soon as these two teams walk out onto the field against each other... it's going to be a knockdown, drag-out fight each and every year.

Looking forward to it!

Um, if you haven't heard espn pumping up texas you aren't listening or watching. They keep calling this the texas revenge tour. up next. OU

I haven't heard anyone, even down here, say we are the "real deal". Improved, not as predictable, young, etc. But not "real deal". "Revenge" could apply to UCLA and ISU. They beat us on our home field last year and losing to them was an embarrassment and humiliation. We owed them. Losing to OU, as distasteful as it is, is not an embarrassment. (with a reasonable score)

If we managed to still be undefeated on October 16 THEN I would buy into "real deal". We're a long way from there right now.

Just because the level of competition favors OU does not mean the whorns are incapable of beating the Sooners.

This game does not follow a script. The unexpected is the norm.

That they are 4-0 and to some extent, feeling like things are back to normal in whornville is better than having them come in with a chip on their shoulder, us-against-the-world attitude.

The only way UT will cause any real damage is by using trick plays. UT's OC will bring his bag full of them.

I don't place much into stats unless both teams were playing the same teams in the same venues.

Oklahoma was up 28-10 last season in the 4th quarter, but did not have the discipline and maturity to finish. And that was still close to the same time-frame that Oklahoma was rather unimpressive at home against Utah St. and Air Force. Maybe, just maybe, Oklahoma does have that discipline and maturity this time around to finish and perhaps even make the point differential much worse than the 28-10 that it was at the time. Oklahoma is also running the ball better this year and a severely limping Adrian Taylor won't be playing in this game. Just sayin'.

They can hurt us if they force us into pass defense and then run up the middle ala Mizzou. The key is whether we can keep Nelson on the field to contain the run. Our DEs have been amazing this year, the rest of the Front 7 not so much.

What Harsin is actually doing is developing packages to suit what he sees as an individual's strengths and a way to get them the ball in a particular situation. In one game 7 different players took the snap from center. Misdirection and movement, whatever he thinks will get the ball to the player the play is designed for. You can call them trick plays in the sense they do not constitute a consistent offense but it does get people involved who have talent or speed that wouldn't fit into a set offense. The majority of plays still fit into the conventional wisdom thoughts of an offense.

I'm still getting used to it, too but it can be described at least two ways. Unpredictable and fun. After last year...I like fun! Winning would be nice, too.

We all know that there are plays in both team's playbooks that haven't been revealed yet.

It doesn't matter who is considered more talented. It doesn't matter which coach is considered better. It doesn't matter where the teams are ranked, or even if they're ranked.

This is OU/Texas. All bets are off.

I have so much love/hate for this game. Even in the years we put 60+ points on 'em, I was nervous until the end...half expecting Texas to rally and reel off 70 unanswered points in 3 minutes.

Keep your Ohio State/Michigan, Yankees/Red Sox or whatever rivalry game you pick. THIS is the best weekend, the best rivalry, in the best environment a sportsfan could have. At least a Sooner or Longhorn fan.
