This is purely based on what teams have done up until this point. Bama's beat down of Arkansas was more impressive than the other top teams. I had LSU at #1 last week, but not this week after giving up 533 yards to WVU. Our defensive front is about as strong as any team in the country. It's our secondary that has proven to be suspect. Our offense hasn't faced a great defense yet, and has looked out of synch at times. The good news is we have time to correct this. :)

1. LSU (because of the level of competetion)
2. Bama (could be #1, but I think LSU edges them out with who they've played)
3. OU (fair ranking, for now)
4. Boise (have to give them credit, all they've done is win...still can't stand them)
5. OSU (winning at College Station against a good A&M team makes them a top 5)

No love on this board eh? Remember how good Alabama "looked" last year before they dropped 3 games? Remember how good LSU looked in 07 before they lost two? (Yes I know they won the MNC, don't post stupid **** to me please). We were number one coming in, and we are still that in my book.

I think these are all representative of people's top 5 based on what we've seen so far. Pretty hard to argue that OU's one win over a top 5 (at the time) team beats out what Bama and LSU have done. So far.

For the BCS'rs, our SOS took a hit when FSU lost to Clemson but will come back when they get Manuel back and will also improve
when Mizzou surprises some people. Until Bama and LSU hook up, we're likely #3 when that first poll (BCS) comes out. We are solidly
2 or 3 but watch out for Wisky....

You're right, but the difference this year is having a real playmaker at QB *and* a down year for tOSU. But it is still speculation at this point. My top 5 power rating (i.e. who I think it best, not poll rating)

1) LSU
2) Bama
3) OU
4) Wisky
5) UO (yes, I think the ducks win the PAC12)
Stanford/Boise/OSU very close and could jump up to 4 or 5 above.

Just because you continue to win against your opponents every week is not justification by itself to remain at no. 1.

Too funny.. OU has an FSU hangover and it scares some people.

1) OU (most balanced team)
2) LSU (great defense, but mediocre offense)
3) Boise State (Solid team, but play one or two big games a year)
4) Bama (great D as usual, but too young on offense)
5) Wisconsin ( Another solid team, but lack true challenges)

Despite our "sub-par" performance yesterday, I am not surprised at all. After such a big game like Florida State, some type of hangover was bound to happen. Mizzou is also a much better team than most people gave them credit for, especially (IMO) Franklin. Our offense looked good, just seemed to stall in the red zone a few times. The only reason I put LSU ahead of us is basically why everyone else did, they have looked more impressive. But I think we all know, after 2008, that "looking impressive" is not everything.

Usually I'm with you, but where is the stupid here? All the same teams with slightly different orders, so maybe no brilliant insight - but where's the stupid?

OU, LSU, and Alabama are clearly the top 3 for now. Things get pretty muddled after that.
