I've already placed my PPV order with U-verse.Looking up the stats for Ball State, they aren't as bad as I thought . In fact(on paper, anyhow) they look good. They are 3-1 and their Qb is completing 70+5 of his passes. They also have a couple of RBs with nice stats. Still think we win by 3 TDs but I was originally thinking 5+ TDs.

You can either spend $40 on the PPV or $150 on a pair of game tickets. Any other conclusion means you're a terrible fan.

Or you live in the Northeast where the PPV isn't even offered. I hate this playing a complete and total cupcake every year. If we scheduled a Rice or SMU or something Fox Sports would likely pick up the game.

Actually they are only $54 face value tickets (which shows its a crap game that shouldn't even be on the schedule).

I'll watch it on direct ppv. Anyone have any idea what channel on direct? It gets tiresome flicking through 900 odd channels to find out where this week's game is hidden.

My DirecTV receiver has a search feature that works very well at finding what channel the OU game is on without flicking through 900 odd channels. I'm not at home though so I can't tell you what channel it is.

Pay-Per-View Info: OU vs. Ball State

The game is available on cable systems throughout Oklahoma, Texas and nationwide.

NORMAN, Okla. -- FOX Sports Southwest will distribute this weekend's OU vs. Ball State football game on a pay-per-view basis to participating program providers. The suggested retail price is $39.95. The pay-per-view telecast will be available in high-definition.

The game is being televised on pay-per-view because it wasn't selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. Pay-per-view allows fans the option to watch a game they otherwise wouldn't be able to see.

Chuck Cooperstein (play-by-play), former Oklahoma All-American safety Roy Williams (analyst), former Sooner two-time national championship quarterback and current Oklahoma City KWTV sports director Dean Blevins (analyst), and Kelly Crull (sideline reporter) will call the game from Norman. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. (CT).

FOX Sports Southwest will also show a one-hour condensed replay of the game as part of its Big 12 No Huddle series on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at noon (CT).

Sooner Gameday Central (http://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-footbl/archive/2011_sooner_gameday_central.html) | Ticket Information (http://ev10.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=FB&linkID=ou&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode=) | Gameday Guide (http://www.soonersports.com/facilities/memorial-stadium.html) | OU Football Main (http://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-footbl/okla-m-footbl-body.html)

The game will be available on a dedicated pay-per-view channel on participating Oklahoma and Texas program providers listed below and nationwide on DirecTV, Dish Network and AT&T U-verse. Cable TV subscribers must have digital cable to order the telecast. Customers can order the game from their set-top boxes or by calling their local program provider. Check with the provider in your area for channel information.

If you're a Dish Network customer I would not get excited about the prospect of seeing this in HD, last year HD was offered for the PPV game but Dish did NOT carry that feed. If I could convince the wife to leave Dish for Direct, I would leave in a heartbeat.

Can't order it yet on DirecTV through any method. They really drive me nuts. Will have to call again on Friday.

And their reasoning for why it can't be ordered yet? Game subject to blackout. A PAY PER VIEW SUBJECT TO BLACKOUT. That's a first.

This is a game that wouldn't be anywhere near a TV if it wasn't for PPV. I have not pulled the trigger yet, but when push comes to shove on Saturday afternoon I will probably be making the call. I traveled from Arizona to Tallahassee to see them, $40 seems like a bargain.

(in my best Mack Brown voice) I'll answer that one for Chris....

Dish Network does not have any interest in catering to sports fans, because they think sports programming is too expensive, so they take the minimalist approach to anything sports related they offer. They dropped ESPN News in HD and can't work out a deal with ABC/ESPN to get ESPN-U in HD, and now they are threatening to pull all the ESPN channels when the contract is up. If this happens, I will walk after 16 years with them. There are some channels my wife watches that aren't in HD on Direct TV, but that is the breaking point for me and she's going to just have to suck it up.

I figure it is worth $35.00 to get the game, cheaper than getting up there and going to it and I remember the days when there was only two games a season on TV. I also know a lot of Whorn fans who would have preferred the Rice game had been on PPV since none of them can get the LHN.

It's a PPV game, they are going to police and shut down feeds much more than an OTA or cable game. All content providers have been going after the streamers for copyright infringement much more than in years past.
