I've been expecting to see it show up, but it hasn't. Just thought that it would be appropriate.

I fifth the motion, permission and rules of order be damned.

Funny...I was thinking the same thing a few days ago. It's not that we need to add every Sooner who has died in the offseason...only the ones who left us too soon. Lee Roy qualifies in that respect.

Not to mention the impact that Lee Roy had on OUr program

I too think this is a good idea.

Ummmmm who cares WHEN he died. He's the greatest Sooner football player OF ALL TIME!!!! Put him up there.

What about Jimmy Harris??? He just passed last month...

I asked this question on 9/13. Unfortunately I put it on the Suggestions Forum. Apparently that forum is a wasteland...

Should have happened the very hour of his passing.

RIP Mr. Selmon - You made me darn proud to be an Oklahoman and a SOONER.

While I don't disagree, the list could get pretty long. Jack Mildren, Bob Kalsu, and Billy Vessels come immediately to mind.

Add Selmon

Terry Crouch must be the most overlooked and underrated 2-time all-american in the history of college football. The guy passed away on May 8th at the age of 51. What about Brandon Everage. He passed away in May at the age of 30.

I think they all should be mentioned.......but hey....that's just me talkin.

Uh, Brandon's name is up there.

And why hasn't this been done? Seems most fitting to have his name there with Austin's and Brandon's. Please add his name

Hey - have you guys thought about adding Lee Roy Selmon to the "In Memory" banner? I think that would be a swell idea. Don't know why anyone hadn't thought of it SOONER.

OK dudes, I'll take it to Phil on the modador board. I promise!

Well, you know, I have mixed feelings about it. I really had in mind honoring those that left us far too young, and Box and Everage certainly fit that bill. However, Lee Roy certainly left us far too soon as well. Let me ponder on it a bit.

I understand your position, Phil.

In favor of adding him, I would state that Lee Roy left way too early, and is current enough that GK is wearing his number honoring him at TB. (93, 63 is retired) Additionally, there are many who feel Lee Roy was the greatest Sooner, including The King.

I think it's pretty sad anyone would need to think more than one second about honoring Leroy.

SoonerKnight

Honor him. It doesn't matter he was older he played for our team and was a decent man. Not just a good player!! He deserves his name up there to remember him with. I don't think anyone objects!

At this point, I think you are probably right.

Not sure why it wouldn't be easy to add.

I'm thinking the same thing. I wonder if it's just not getting around to it or if the admins don't think it's appropraite due to the fact that Selmon (while definitely too young )didn't die at an extemely abnormal age nor of unusual circumstances.
