Really nothing new, just answering questions that were asked (and he was right about most of it). Nonetheless, he's going to be really sore on Sunday morning!

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops won’t have to fabricate bulletin-board material from Missouri players to motivate his No. 1-ranked Sooners for Saturday night’s game against the Tigers in Norman.

Tigers receiver Jerrell Jackson gave Stoops plenty of real ammunition during the course of a 5-minute, 52-second interview at the Mizzou training complex.

Referencing Missouri’s 36-27 victory over then-No. 1 Oklahoma last year in Columbia — which Jackson later admitted was a seminal triumph for Mizzou’s program — Jackson used his best Houston drawl to indicate it was no big thing.

“It was all right,” said Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior. “Just another game.”

Consider that shot No. 1 across Oklahoma’s bow.

“They’re No. 1, again,” Jackson said. “So that motivates us to go into their house and play them and beat them on their own turf.”

Shot No. 2.

“I’m pretty sure they’re not going to forget that loss. That pretty much hurt their season last year.”

Shot No. 3.

And despite Missouri not having won in Norman since 1966 and Oklahoma coming in 78-2 at home under Stoops, Jackson said:

“I don’t know what makes ‘em tough. Nothing tough about ‘em to me.”

Jerrell Jackson loves to play to a crowd. He has fun with life. Even when he probably shouldn’t.

Oklahoma fans, and anybody else who wants to take offense, will note all this talk is coming out of the mouth of a guy who has caught one pass this season for 3 yards. And forget that Jackson missed the first two games this season because of a hamstring pull and that most of Missouri’s starters played only about half of last Saturday’s 69-0 massacre of Western Illinois.

Some Sooners defenders, on the other hand, might remember it was Jackson who caught nine passes for 139 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown reception that put Missouri ahead for good early in the fourth quarter in Columbia a year ago.

Jackson may not yet be fully mended from his hamstring problem. But he anticipates he will be by kickoff.

“Ain’t no way you can stop me from playing this game,” Jackson said.

It is possible Oklahoma didn’t pay that much attention to Jackson in its preparations last year. Last season, T.J. Moe (92) and Michael Egnew (90) caught most of Blaine Gabbert’s passes.

Moe, who with 16 receptions in three games for 172 yards is the favorite receiver of sophomore quarterback James Franklin this year, figures Oklahoma will have to game plan for a lot more Tigers this season.

Wes Kemp has 10 catches, Marcus Lucas and L’Damian Washington seven each. So far, 16 different Missouri players have caught passes. Missouri’s seven scoring passes have gone to six different receivers, with only Kemp doubling up with a pair of touchdowns against Western Illinois.

“They’re going to have to try to defend everybody,” Moe said.

One thing is most likely: Oklahoma will be eye-balling Jerrell Jackson.

This kid obviously did not watch that game in Tally last Saturday. He should ask one of those 9 players from FSU who were too banged up to practice on Monday what they think about us. :beaten::unconscious::topsy_turvy:

He should ask Reid from FSU how much it helped him to run his mouth the week of the game in Norman last year. As I recall, he got beat in coverage like a pack mule. He was a lot quieter this year (and still got beat by Stills when it mattered).

You can't fix stupid. You can, however, knock it into the turf and SITFU for four quarters.
