Was thinking any te/fb pass

Josh was a killer with those back in the day

I got one word in response.

No.

You gotta have space and a lane to hit the shovel pass. Not a lot of that to be had in goal line situations. Now if you'd have said more B or C gap instead of trying to iso the A or hit the edge on what you KNOW is a hella-fast bunch, then yeah, I'm right there with ya.

That B and C gap kickout was there all night. Let's you downblock to pick up the LB pursuit, too. We hit it a couple of times for good averages especially on the opening drive but for some reason got away from it. Once we started back hitting positives on the ground, it wasn't on the edges or in the belly, it was off-guard/off-tackle.

Looks to me like a roll out bootleg via Landry would also work pretty well. I'm for a run-pass option QB in these kinds of situations, especially in college ball.

I think we reached our shovel pass quota after the 2001 season.

Perhaps we feared their LBs in coverage on the flat. I was REALLY happy that Landry threw the PA pass away when it looked like Millard was almost open. Old Landry would have tried to force it in and gotten picked.

When we're inside the 10, we need to utilize our TE's more and have a goal package where Dejuan Miller is on the field. He can go up and get jump balls at his size. Just handing the ball off out of the I straight into the pile isn't going to cut it.

Yep. Millard may be good at lots of things, but he is no burner. He was lined up tight on that play and the coverage caught him within a couple of strides once they saw the rollout. The play had no chance and LJ did the right thing.

Any play except the one that everyone in the country knows your going too run...Including my 14yr old daughter... But in the End!!! It's all about Blocking & Play Execution!! But I do 100% agree--->Millard needs to get the ball more down in the RZ!!! whether it be by hand off or a Pass!!

To be fair, Dean can only count to two, so that was two words for him.

Have a redzone QB option specialist? Blake perhaps? OK, I'll stop coaching. :D

The first time we had to settle for a FG in the redzone, I thought a PA pass would have worked perfect. I know Stoops wants to be able to run the ball, but sometimes you gotta get the points.

We had great RZ success when we had these 3 words: Bradford, Murray, Gresham

We need to spread out the D if were running up the gut. They loaded it up and we could not block everybody. The O line seems to do OK blocking 6 instead of 10...

Set Ronnell Lewis at tailback with Millard in front of him. Tell Ronnell the Middle Linebacker said something bad about his sister.

Give Ronnell the ball.

That's like my "Put in Patrick Fletcher at tailback, and Torrance Marshall at fullback. Give the ball to Fletch. Tell T-Marsh to throw Fletch."

Was it Stockar McDougle they used to put in at fullback sometimes on short yardage? Man, so funny to watch him blow up a LB or DB.

I liked the Ninja Heavy (6 OL) X ISO we ran in week one. Oh, that's more than 3 words, nevermind.
