The delayed start of the Oklahoma-Tulsa game early Sunday morning apparently flirted with violating NCAA rules.

Bylaw 17.1.6.6.3 states that "countable athletically related activities shall not occur between midnight and 5 a.m." The game started at 12:15 a.m. CT due to weather delays.

The key word seems to be "occur". There are times when games last past midnight local time. However, activities that start before midnight local time qualify as an exception per Bylaw 17.1.6.6.3.1: "[for] participation in any competition that begins before midnight and concludes after midnight ..."

Because warm-ups occurred before midnight it's likely the game was in compliance with NCAA rules. Also, it is supposed that school officials could have called the NCAA for a waiver due to the delays.

And the Cowboys knew they were going to rush the ball as TU rarely threw the ball, and when they did, they took a number of sacks which lowered the overall total rushing number.

Nothing to fear people. According to Orange Power some of their defensive players went to high school with or played against A&M players, so they will be "pumped up" for the game next week and magically learn how to tackle.


Our guys played HS ball w/ them. oSu defense will be pumped up for this.

To be fair if Weeden wasn't still throwing for the endzone in the fourth quarter Tulsa might have caught them on the scoreboard. Tulsa turned into a scoring machine for a few minutes and Weeden went 0-3 passing about that time.

They did pull Weeden late in the fourth that or he fell alseep and they weren't able to wake him. The best part was the announcers begging for them to quit stopping clock and saying Weeden was about their age. The second half was just painful.
