Great movie. The title is misleading. It is not an action flick. It is an art house styled production. It was better than Pulp Fiction and Gossling gives an iconic performance.

It looked like it had potential, even for an action-looking flick. Most action flick previews I roll my eyes because it looks like so many things I've seen before. Thanks for the tip.

I ususally don't like movies that are as violent as this one but in this case the movie
wouldn't be nearly as good without it but if you just focus on the violence you will not like the movie.

The choice of Gosling as the lead character was brilliant. The interesing thing is that he probably doesn't have more than 5 minutes of dialogue in the movie.

The opening pre-credit scene is the best opening scene I have ever seen in a movie.

Agree, instant classic. But then this guy (Refn) has been making great movies for a while now. Rent the Pusher trilogy, Bronson, Valhalla Rising.

Well you managed to use "art house" and "iconic" in the same sentence while describing a flick. You probably could.

I've never heard of this or any of the other flicks in this thread. I'll have to check them out.

I didn't like Valhalla Rising much at all.

I'm pretty excited to go this afternoon as well.

ETA: I was ****ing blown away by it. It's not for everybody, but I loved Two Lane Blacktop, Vanishing Point, etc, and it's pretty much the same type deal in my view.

Too violent and Gosling did not do a good job of acting in the movie. Albert Brooks was really good though.
