Wouldn't mind seeing LSU drop this one, but given how MSU looked against Auburn and BYU, I don't think it's going to be much of a game.

The SEC decides the flavor of the year and briefs the officials. They have a history of this, all part of getting their conference into the BCSCG. At least that's my conspiracy theory. I dont trust bowtiewearers. (Slive)

They are ignoring holds, PI and holding MSU's offense up.

Reminds me of the first quarter of the '08 NC game when they wouldn't let us snap the ball.

Miles is the king of telling his players to flop (happened a lot in the Oregon game), it'll be interesting to see if they use that tactic should MSU get in a rhythm offensively.

Why don't refs blow the whistle anymore when the ball carriers forward progress has been stopped but he isn't on the ground? Seen it a lot lately where the guy is stopped for 5 seconds, the D is holding him up and ripping at the ball. The refs just seem to stand there and watch.

I guess that is true because the B12 South technically doesn't exist.

SEC West
2 Alabama
3 LSU
21 Auburn
25 Ole Miss
Miss State
Arkansas

B12 South
1 OU
8 OSU
9 aTm
19 Baylor
23 Texas

They are top heavy. We all know Auburn isn't any good this year. Texas isn't holding up their end of this or B12 would look a lot better.

If Lester gets to the title game in N'awlins, LSU will win. It may cost him even more torment in hades than he is already signed up for, but he has made his deal on earth. It looks like his deal included a giant blemish on his chin to get the MSU victory tonight. (MSU was 0-1 and only ranked #25, so the Hat didn't have to give up too much).

Even though MSU was over-rated and not the dark horse many believed, LSU was still impressive. The defense is the real deal and the offense was multifaceted and effective. I know many LSU fans are glad that Jefferson decided to kick in some face and and believe they are better off with Lee at QB. It's looks like they may be right. The only weakness they showed last night was stalling in the redzone and settling for FGs. If Lee settles in, I expect them to improve in that area and that D makes a FG an important score anyway. I really hope they don't make the title game regardless of where OU goes.

Lott's Bandana

Yet, in the first half, before the MSU o=line got gassed, there were some huge holes in the middle. If MSU had any kind of a play-action game, they could have made it much more of a competitive night.

SEC is down...period. Does the league have ANY decent QB's? I mean, the name of the college game is QB. Only Bama with McElroy made it with an okay QB, but he had two stud runners, a great receiver and an incredible defense.

Landry, Weeden, Griffin, the Missouri kid, even the Iowa State kid, Tannehill...they might all be better than anything the SEC has at QB...at least the top four in the Big 12.

SEC is down...period. Does the league have ANY decent QB's?

Aaron Murray will play on Sundays. Greg McElroy made a roster, which is more than you can say for your 2003 Heisman winner. Newton and Bradford are probably the best QBs to come out of college in a while. As far as *starting* in the league this year,

I mean, the name of the college game is QB. Only Bama with McElroy made it with an okay QB, but he had two stud runners, a great receiver and an incredible defense.

SEC teams recruit good QBs and great defensive players. Other conferences focus on the offensive side of the football.

Landry, Weeden, Griffin, the Missouri kid, even the Iowa State kid, Tannehill...they might all be better than anything the SEC has at QB...at least the top four in the Big 12.

Landry is better than anyone we have but I'd put Tyler Wilson at ARK and Bray at Tennessee over any of the others. The best QB in the SEC might be backing up Jarrett Lee at LSU.... Zach Mettenberger. I think Mettenberger will show out at LSU next year, if they let him sling it. Miles will continue to play ball control football, though.

LSU is really good. They'd be downright scary if they had a quarterback, but that's been the same story since Lester has been there. NFL talent across the field, but at the most important position absolute garbage. They would have won it all last year wiht a decent QB, and I think that scenario will repeat itself this year. They're going to win the SEC, but will lose a game 10-7 or so somewhere on the road, and it will be OU- Wiscy as undefeateds in teh BCS championship game.
