6 times a team has run 100 offensive plays or more in a game.

Sooners were 3 of those games.

Sooners also had 200+ more plays last year than the 2nd place team (Oregon), although PAC had no CCG game. Take 100 off for that and there's still a 100 play diff.

It used to be THE indicator. Mike Leach said if I can run 100 plays, I'll beat you every time..but the game has changed a lot.

It's still more than impressive to get 100 off though.

We've only been at 100 plays a game 3 times in history? I swear we did that at least 3 times during 2008. We had the best offense in NCAA history and we rarely went over 100 plays? Hmm

97 against KU.

Ran the ball a lot more often and gave up 25 pts per game so the opponent was running a lot of plays too.

That's really interesting. I guess we did score really fast so there wasn't as many chances to run plays

I went back through 1999 and only found the 3.

Hard to imagine 6 more in the modern era, with our emphasis on running during the 50's through '80s.

Still an incredibly clean first game. Actually one of the cleanest first games I've ever seen as an OU fan.

I'll guess we averaged more yards/play in '08, so the endzone would stop us from running more :D

We score a fair amount of TD's because the opposing D is not setup, and in many cases looking for the next call and all of the sudden a running back is flying past them with the ball. I love these moments...
