How about the Pac 50?
There will be three conferences: The Pac 50, SEC (with 50 teams), stubborn arrogant Big 10 (12 teams), + Independent Notre Dame. That about covers every D-I team.
The winner of the Pac 50 can play the winner of the expanded 50-team SEC in a BCS game. The winner of the Big 10 can play Notre Dame in another BCS game. The winner of these two games can play in the BCS national championship game.
Notre Dame can be in a BCS game every year even if it goes 0-12. That will ensure that Notre Dame fans can hold on to the delusion that Notre Dame is a national power.
