A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus (http://topics.politico.com/index.cfm/topic/CongressionalBlackCaucus) says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African-Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me ... hanging on a tree.”
Carson also said the tea party is stopping change in Congress, likening it to “the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.”

Carson = stupid paranoid pandering PoS. The sad thing is that people actually believe the ***t that comes out of his brain. I give him credit for making the lunatic right-wing fringe look quite harmless and reasonable!

'Hanging from trees' is way over the top but I've been seeing a lot of changes to Voter Registration Laws that make me want to go "Hmmmmmm".

I don't think correcting voter fraud is at the bottom of the changes.

Did I miss the Democratic Party or Black Cocka** apologies?
Surely Obama will apologize, and distance himself from the comments first thing next Thursday.

I think the Tea Party was kind of birthed out of the frustration over the extreme loss of jobs... and what groups seem to be most hurt by the rising unemployment?

Hint: It isn't white men.

One-quarter of people affected by longterm unemployment are blacks. one-third are people over 45. Women are just as likely to be longterm unemployed as men. Recent college grads are also hurt by longterm unemployment.

I think the Tea Party would be a lot less vocal if longterm unemployment were a lot less high.
