Someone in here has to know something about this:

I need to paint a few helmets to match the team helmets (for a 6th grade team). I've done the whole internet search and seen some advice, but I want to know if anyone has actually done this.

I want to make sure the paint sticks and doesn't flake off after the first hit. I'm thinking I put down a coat of the primer that supposed to help the paint stay, then a few coats of the color. Then what? I've seen the wet sanding mentioned to bring out the shine, but do I go that route or just a coat or two of a high gloss sealant?

Take them to an auto body shop and have them do it. Thats what I did and it worked out well.
