Scoreboard Repainted Part Deux...with PICS!

Ok, I figured it best to start a new thread. Mods, do what you will with the old one.



I took these shots about 7:30pm, so the scoreboard naturally looks darker than it is. I assure you it isn't maroon any longer.

Also, contrary to what someone previously posted in a thread a month or so ago, there has been no change to Heisman Park from before, as of tonight. No cleared ground, nothing.

NICE!!!!! thanks for posting. Having grown up in Norman, went to school in Norman and eventually attended OU, I definately miss being able to see the stadium. Everytime i see pics like this i get pumped up!!! it looks great, and i can't wait to make my annual trip back in October!

I mean did you see them painting it or evidence other than the color that it had just been painted? The color seems the same to me too.

I did not see them paint it. However, the color is significantly lighter that what it was. It is possible that it faded, but I live in Norman and I noticed it immediately.

The scoreboard was originally painted in 2008. Last year, it remained quite maroon. This year, it is not. Last year's summer was much milder than most and this year's summer was brutal. Are you going to the game next week, I'd like you to look at it yourself and see what I am seeing?

Yeup, will be there. I'll take a look at it then. I'm guessing it was just the shawdow on it in the pictures then.

It looks good. When the first added the jumbo tron it was SUPER Maroon.

Unless they did this in a few hours one day...I never saw them paint it. I was on campus all summer and drove by it daily. Nothing has changed.

Here's a pic from 2009. Doesn't look like they changed anything layout wise, but I'll take your word on the color change.

Ok, in the interest of accuracy, I emailed the Athletic Department about this.

Their response was that the significant color difference is completely the result of fading. My impression that other things have changed was due to my excessive use of...attending Norman High in the '70s.

The photo above is a great example of the maroon. It doesn't look like this any longer...I suppose that is one good result of a record-breaking summer.
