Enter Mexico illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.

Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.

Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.

Procreate abundantly. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would not understand, pal."

Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.

Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.

Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.

Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.

Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Good luck!

I've always admired Mexico. Any country THAT resource-rich that can make policies to put their citizens in unbelievable poverty and then have the chutzpah to not only get their people employed in their richer neighbor to the north but make THAT country feel guilty about it, is a force to be reckoned with.

This whole thing has really been bothering me. What part of illegal in "illegal immigrants" are the people in a fuss not understanding? I also love it when people skip class in public schools in America to go protest by waving Mexican flags. Sorry. My ridiculous property taxes that go to Dallas public schools to pay for this ungrateful **** gets under my skin a bit. Especially since I don't have any kids in the district to take advantage of all this money spent teaching everything in Spanish.

The worst part about it (and I bring this up everytime I have this conversation with someone) is that there are American citizens that are being turned down for jobs because they can't speak Spanish. Why do we have to cater to these people who shouldn't be here in the first place? Why, when reading instructions, do you have to flip through to find the English portion? They want to be American citizens, so make them act like they are American. If you can't speak English, sorry, you can't work here...If you can't read English, sorry...Learn our language if you want to be a citizen of our country. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage, but don't walk/drive around with the Mexican flag on everything you own. You want to be considered an American, why not show the flag of the country that you are supposedly proud to be a part of?

The big uproar is about making even harboring or assisting an illegal alien a felony. I agree that illegal immigration is a problem, a big problem, but felonizing something like that might be harsh.

Also, alot of the Hispanic population down here are American Citizens and/or permanent residents. Plus, when applying for citizenship, you are required to demonstrate an ability to read, write and understand English. But obviously this little exam is not going to be enough to persuade the vast population down here in Texas to speak only English.

Lastly, it is very true that alot of the hispanic population here (whether legal or illegal) do many of the jobs that many Americans will not. And by generating money for the state (whether by income tax or just sales tax and spending) they are supporting the welfare system that allows the Americans on welfare to continue not having to do those jobs that Hispanics do.

Beef
3/30/2006, 03:38 PM
Obviously, the current legal threats are not enough to make those in this country illegally come forward and do the paperwork necessary to be here legally. I'm not questioning the contributions by Mexicans or Mexican-Americans. I just think that when someone from another country is here, that our government has a right to know that they're here. The government, police or whoever can track me down easily right now. I don't think it's unfair to ask that they should be able to do the same to immigrants.

yermom
3/30/2006, 03:49 PM
yeah, i'd love to have accidents and not have to pay for them, or have them go on my record

as for instructions/jobs in Spanish... that is the free market we have, if someone's customers primarily speak spanish it doesn't seem unreasonable

i have problems with illegal aliens or whatever you want to call them, not with hispanics, or Mexicans

"do the jobs that nobody else wants to do"

who's fault is that? its ours.....we allow our government to breed people who arent willing to work, because they'd rather sit on their fat *** and collect government assistance

i bet if you're hungry enough, you'll go do "those jobs"

The worst part about it (and I bring this up everytime I have this conversation with someone) is that there are American citizens that are being turned down for jobs because companies like Dell and Wal-Mart and ATT are all outsourcing their service departments to friggin' India where they put friggin' Hadji on the phone, who SHOULD be workin' at the local Squishy Mart, giving you the run around, while they read from a friggin' script all the time makin' friggin' $1.05 a DAY!!!!!

 GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.. Fixed unfortunately.

If you want a real travesty, screw the felony for illegals.. make it illegal for US corporations to outsource its labor to foreign markets until the jobless rate dips below 3%....

Don't worry, there are. However, the Americans cashing the checks and refusing the jobs actually feel they're *entitled* to that money.

Fuggin' old farts.

THAT is where your paycheck goes. Medicaid. Medicare. Social Security. Blowin' shiite up in the Middle East.

Welfare (aid to dependent children) and food stamps (the two primary forms of Welfare folks seem to complain about) take up TWO ****ING PERCENT of the Federal Budget.

Seriously. I know we're a Proestant nation, but there comes a time when this whole work ethic thing makes us functionally insane. We can scream about Welfare all we want, but the fact is that America is not now, nor will it ever be, a proper Welfare state. Not even close. The closest we came was the 1930s, when FDR saved the entire planet's economy with his leftist, pinko work projects. The bastage.

Now then.

When, exactly, did rabid anti-immigrant sentiment become a Democratic party platform? I think I sorta missed that memo, though it wouldn't surprise me. The Democratic leadership couldn't pull its head out of its collective arse even if Vin Diesel was there to help tug. That silly, gay, sumgun.

Me, I believe that accepting immigrants, even if doing so is terribly painful, is our legacy and duty as Americans. Open arms is what makes us what we are.

Oh, and maybe we can start tar-and-feathering Mexicans (and Americans) caught, say, driving without car insurance. And we can go ahead and put the ones that evade taxes into work camps, so they'll understand what it *really* feels like to work for the government.

Cheap labor is a powerful fuel for the American economy. At the moment, we're actually in a nearly ideal circumstance -- we get access to that vast, cheap, illicit labor pool, but we don't have to spend much on 'em, and we get to throw back any of 'em we don't care for. They all work, because they have no choice, and the "terrible" expenses they "cause" us would exist even if they were made legal. Mostly because the majority of that expense is health care, which they'd need even if they were legal, because you sure as heck aren't going to get an HMO provided with your roofing job.

The idea that Mexicans are somehow displacing Americans from jobs those Americans are too "lazy" to perform is simply not true. We don't have some vast, lazy, welfare-check-cashing pool of parasites in this country.

Well, aside from all them affluent elderly cashing social security checks even thosugh they've got net worths above a million. But ain't nobody gonna take their play dough away. After all, they "earned" it. Not their fault they're living decades longer than when Social Security was created. Or that Social Security never was a retirement fund -- merely a way to shift income from able-bodied, young folks to decrepit, old folks.

The police estimate that at least 1/3 of all violent crime in Maricopa County (Phoenix) is related to illegal aliens. All this for people who aren't even supposed to be here.

Just as an example, there was a dude that had been deported multiple times and kept coming back that led police and sheriff deputies on a chase through Phoenix, firing guns out his car windows the whole time. They ending up catching him, but a few weeks later while a deputy was escorting him to court for his trial, the ****bag somehow managed to stab the deputy in the face a few times and escape. All this for some dickhead that isn't even supposed to be here.

The 28 counties that border Mexico in TX, NM, AZ, and CA spend over $125 million a year housing non U.S. citizens in their jails and prisons. No idea what the figure is nationwide. All this for people who aren't even supposed to be here.

I don't know what taxpayers are spending for these people's healthcare, but I'm sure it's astronomical. All this for people who aren't even supposed to be here.

Are these estimated 12 million illegals really helping us enough to counteract what they are costing us in dollars, lives, property loss, resources, and infringement on our rights? It's a hard sell for me.
